Good for the parliamentarian for removing Nancy's pork barrel project. This bill is about assisting folks who are behind on their bills due to Covid putting them out of work. Pelosi has a lot of crust trying to take food out of Americans mouths to use on a pet project of her's. But it doesn't surprise me a bit.

Don't worry. I'm sure there's plenty of more pork in the bill. I'd be surprised if one single bill ever got passed without some kind of pork in it. In fact I'd be downright amazed.

    You summed it up perfectly.

What's especially stupid about this is Biden wants an infrastructure bill. Put it there where it belongs. NY had a similar project removed as well.

More importantly, Joe agreed to reduce the limits on who gets a stimulus check this time, presumably in order to solidify votes for the bill.

    SNIP
But now singles making between $80,000-100,000 and couples making between $160,000-200,000 will get nothing. The Washington Post's Jeff Stein reports that roughly 17 million people who previously got checks now will not.

Quite honestly, those limits are still too high....$2800 for a couple making 159K is a freaking joke.... Sorry..

They could do plenty more cutting to those limits IMHO...

Good. She can give that $140 million to her constituents that are homeless and defecating in the streets...

I'd have to start around 50K/100K, but I could be talked into even lower...

I know this would be impossible for our government, but I feel it should somehow be tied to the median income in the county (or state) where you live...

50K in Wheeler County GA** and 50K in Westchester County NY are 2 completely different things...

    ** I looked it up...

Since this seems to be a COVID package thread (??), the bill has passed the first test in the Senate...

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/schumer-tears-ron-johnson-forcing-174433685.html

I'm not sure Ron Johnson would have the base intelligence to vote for a bill called the "Save Ron Johnson's Life" bill.... if Schumer introduced it....

Fortunately for all of America, he will be the second GOP seat retaken in 2022 (after Pa)....

It's hysterical watching Morning Joe call Johnson the dumbest man in the Senate... and it's really not very close...

Do you realize that a GOPPER requested that the entire ARP bill be read out loud into the Senate record??

    It's going on right now.

The ONLY thing this accomplishes is unnecessary delay.... Followed by 20 hours of unnecessary "debate", Followed by 50 sheep voting against an insanely popular plan.

    What a genius political strategy!

I don't like the GOP's elitist "root hog or die" attitudes/policies.

Notice they never have a problem raising their own salary and wasting lives and money warmongering.
