Quite bigoted of you to assume such. You need to find a mirror and look into then you will see a true bigot looking back at you..
I wonder if anyone can see the parallels between the growing demonization of the Muslim religion and the ultimate slaughter of Jews in Nazi Germany. I wonder if it would even make a difference. I'm thinking the only way these hate filled bigots will recognize the direction things are headed would be if it were their religion being targeted. Killing in the name of one God or another makes no more sense now than it did when Christians were being fed to Hungary lions for the amusement of those in power, and yet on and on it goes. I, myself, will never understand it.
You are correct that not all were Christians but you apparently missed the whole "Easter mass" and several Churches were targeted with Christians that were celebrating a Christian holiday. I can assure you that before the New Zealand attack, the same people who could not locate Sri Lanka on a map could also not locate New Zealand but it was amazing that how many people darned the New Zealand Fern symbol. And Sri Lanka has had a war torn history, but do we merely ignore such attacks because they have had such a history? And they have been at peace for over a decade, BTW. Also connected with the second, being a fractious nation should not exclude them from notoriety of a major event like this? Oh, and so you know.. Many here also hadn't noticed the coup attempt in this nation either! Ah, but the narrative was that the New Zealand murderer admired Trump when in actuality he said that Trump was a poor president and he actually had more adoration for the Chinese government on how they were handling the Muslim migration problem in China. The Narrative was also that a white man killed Muslims and their government initiated harsh gun controls. A whole bunch of points that our liberal America are enamored with. White people bad, gun control and Trump is evil. Sri Lanka was a brown on brown attack against Christians so totally over looked... another similar trait of the U.S of A! Any time innocent people are attacked is such a fashion should be epic news, regardless of the color of their skin or their religious affiliation. Just like how our liberals here are trying to get reparations for slavery that took place over a century ago, yet we turn a blind eye on slavery of today. We tend to only focus on things that suite a narrative. Africa is again the world’s epicenter of modern-day slavery I'm working solely off the lack of attention on one event over another. Muslim, no Muslim, Christian, no Christian... The fact that one event seems to be tainted over another because one is a peaceful white nation while the other is full of brown people who have been part of a violent past seems to be a particular prejudice in it's own right!
If the conspiracy theory benefited current right wing ideology, it would take off like a rocket. At this time it apparently does not, but things do change. Who knows ... your proposed conspiracy theory may one day find a home on Breitbart or Fox sometime in the future.
First of all, your claims about silence on media is just plain wrong, it's still the top story everywhere. But you're right, there is a different level of outrage from different groups. I've already explained elsewhere why the New Zealand attack was particularly hard for me to swallow. I saw the evil in people that I consider friends and some family. I read the Discord server that my little cousin and his friends post on, and I know that if I were born ten years later I too might be celebrating the murder of innocent Muslims on a Discord server much like it.
Churches are going to have to harden their perimeters, increase the force of their security, and as it was up to 304 A.D., be very careful about who they allow to enter and be amongst the congregations.
It's not the demonizing of the Muslim faith that is growing. It's the acts of some of their followers that have highlighted the savagery through acts against others. Islamic State group targets gays with brutal public killings Brunei Stoning Punishment for Gay Sex and Adultery Takes Effect Despite International Outcry ISIS Says It Was Behind Deadly Attack on Christians in Egypt 95% of all Muslims are peaceful, loving people and I'd never want to paint them with one broad stroke but these headlines are more of the norm than not.
Trump won't be impeached. If that happened, we would be struck with Pence. Best just to wait for 2020 to be rid of him. Dems need to hold public, televised hearings regarding the Mueller investigation. By the time election time rolls around, nobody outside of his family will believe Trump is fit for the office of POTUS.
Does every nation on earth need to have Muslims? For whatever reason, the left seems highly motivated to import Islam into every country that they can bully into it. And almost without fail, every country that has done so ends up with terror attacks and schisms in their culture. If you want to be around those of the Islamic faith you should move to an Islamic country, you should not force your countrymen to accept Muslim immigration against their will. You need to demonstrate by way of a single majority Muslim country that the religion is compatible with Western secularism. Every single data point available forces the exact opposite conclusion. I oppose any and all Muslim immigration because I recognize it's absolute intolerance for other worldviews and its absolute tendency to employ terrorism and violence to achieve its goals.
You can spare me the lecture. I'm from a part of the world that actually cares about this because it is awful, not because of the religion of anyone involved. Oh and more hotels were targeted than churches, which you apparently missed. Look, you can make up politically convenient theoretical constructs about what people should or shouldn't know, but none of that has a thing to do with how the world works. Dark folk in violent, distant lands with no connection to the US might as well not exist 99.9% of the time. Most Americans would be aware of a number of prominent new Zealanders. I doubt that could be said of Sri Lanka. You guys invented McLurg's law. Pretending it shouldn't exist because you have a partisan political point to make cuts no ice. I would love it if your citizens were a fraction as interested in the outside world as people in most comparable societies are, but they aren't. Never really have been. Blame the people you see every day. Blame yourself. Oh, and if your last line was anything but an odd attempt at humour you have pretty much dealt yourself out of an adult conversation. The guy admired Trump as a symbol of white supremacy AND said he was a poor President. Trying to mislead me just makes you look bad. That also applies to pretty much the whole rest of your paragraph. You are right that Americans don't care about 'brown on brown' violence, but trying to claim this is a 'liberal' thing just reinforces the impression that you are happy to make stuff up and silly enough to think others will believe it. If you were really interested in attacks on the innocent you wouldn't be so desperate to use these deaths to attack 'liberals'. You are as transparent as a pane of glass and not half as clever as you think you are. Just one more American political drone making everything about themselves. If this had been Tamils & Sinhalese killing each other you would neither know nor care. Nothing you have written suggests that you care now. Of course its a prejudice. Perhaps you should dedicate yourself to encouraging other Americans to care more about the rest of the world, no matter what the colour or religion of the people who live there. As I said, my city is in mourning tonight. If American cities are not then it says something about your nation. If you want to understand the problem look at what you have posted - you are a part of it.
Weren't they worshipping on Easter? I don't understand why you are attempting to grasp this and use it as a political weapon against Democrats. Im a Christian. I condemn violence in all its forms, as well as all hatred and bigotry (as does any true Christian). I am sickened by those who would use this horrific tragedy as a political talking point to further spread bigotry and violence. Jesus would not be pleased with anyone engaging in this behavior.
Sorry, your game of "I know you are, what am I?" Is childish as well as ineffective. It has been overused by the retrumplicans. I am a Christian. I condemn all forms of racism, bigotry, and violence. You cannot demonize an entire religion because of the actions of a few. Do you think that what was done to the Jews in Germany during WW 2 was ok? That's what happens when you normalize bigotry against a specific group of people. How about what was done to Japanese Americans during WW 2? Another example of hysterical bigotry and hatred, blaming people who are NOT responsible for the actions of others. Do you think your stubborn refusal to admit that what is obviously bigotry is wrong would mesh with the teachings of Jesus? The God I worship does not encourage prejudicial hatred or bigotry. Especially when it leads to violence and death. Do you think all of the hatred and demonization coming from the RW is helpful?
Perhaps they did not want to limit their condolences to only the Christians who were injured or killed. Perhaps, since people other than Christians were adversely affected by these horrific attacks, they preferred not to exclude or minimize anyone's pain or grief. You may feel that the only prevalent victims were Christians, but most of us feel that everyone is relevant, even those who do not practice the same religion that we do. You just keep using this tragedy as a RW talking point though. It just clarifies the true R W ideology and it isn't a pretty picture; and, as you well know, 2020 is right around the corner.
The hypocrisy here is on full display. One needs only to view you making the NZ shooting political to see it. 2020 is right around the corner. I, as an independent, see right through this. You want my vote. You won’t get it continuing down this path. Don’t worry, the GOP doesn’t have it yet either. So far, the dead body of Ann Richards is getting my vote. Again.
Based on the wording of your reply, it is quite clear you are very bigoted towards certain members of our society while wrapping yourself in a bible.
Denmark's richest man and owner of brands like Vero Moda and Jack and Jones loses 3 of his four children in the terror attacks . They had been on vacation . I guess no one is going to be on vacation in this tourist paradise for some time . https://m.timesofindia.com/world/so...in-sri-lanka-attacks/articleshow/68990139.cms
No, Obama is a practicing Christian. Who are you to dispute what another person claims as their religious faith? On what do you base your claims that you have more knowledge about Obama's faith than he does? For you to think that someone like Obama would lie about his religious faith to please people like you is beyond ludicrous. If the man were of the Muslim faith, he would have said that was the religion he practiced. I get that Retrumplicans are accustomed to being lied to by their "Dear Leader", but not everyone is dishonest like Trump.
I have no idea what you are going on about as you make little sense. As far as your vote goes? You do seem to have an inflated opinion as to your importance in the 2020 election outcome. I doubt anyone cares who you vote for. I know I don't. Also, I am not running for any office so you wouldn't be giving me your vote in any case. You can vote for Bugs Bunny for all the difference it will make.
What don't you understand about the simple fact that you and your ilk are simply not important enough to lie to. Why in God's name would someone as intelligent and accomplished as Obama care enough about the opinion of somebody like you? President Obama has way too much integrity to lie about his religious faith. He is the type of person who takes pride in who he is and has absolutely no reason to lie about his faith. Again, I do understand that you people are used to having your "Dear Leader" Trump lie to you constantly, but President Obama is so much above that type of thuggish, gutter-type behavior. Maybe you can identify with Trump and the type of person he is. If so, I do pity you; however, you are still incorrect, pitiful or not.
Because Obama is a street thug pure and simple. He lies and continue to lie to stay with the loop and make even more money he has already extorted as the former President.
Moderate: Muslims just murdered hundreds of people, we need to respond to this. Liberal: Hey violence is never the answer, think outside the box. Moderate: Oh look I just bought a MAGA hat to support our President. Liberal: Nazi! I am going to punch you the face. You people are racist. *sigh*
