to each their own

Personally, I love football as well as American football. I played football and injured my knee and later on obtained higher coaching licenses and coached HS age teams. I would rather watch paint dry than watch baseball and I gather that is your feeling toward football.

Football and American football are 2 different sports requiring different skill sets. I can appreciate a center midfielder who can hold the ball while under defensive pressure and still place a properly weighted ball to a player who is making a run.

NFL games tend to grind more than untelevised college games due to TV timeouts and 30 second timeouts become 5 minutes for commercial breaks.

We use miles, not Meters. We call it soccer, not football.

    Hi Ole.

Americans are obsessed with gridiron (this is the official name of the sport) because of its intense contact and violence. By its own admission it is not a skill sport. Furthermore, the NFL has acknowledged that there are, on average, only 10 minutes of action in every game.

As you are from Sweden you no doubt watched IIHF just a few days ago. The finale with the USA defeating Canada in overtime will long be remembered as one of the greatest sports events in history. Sadly, it got very little attention from the American news media. There are videos in youtube which show what an incredible game it was. I will remember it as long as I live.

No one in the US likes soccer because no intelligent person wants to watch regular season games that always end in ties, incredibly low scores, or no score at all!

The only reason people will always watch hockey over soccer is because in hockey people get thrown around and there are fights.

In soccer, someone barely touches someone and they roll around on the ground, LITERALLY crying. Bunch of wimps soccer players are.

Unlike Football and Hockey, these nerds aren't getting hit violently all game.

USA scores Canada in Junior final game??? Interesting. Now USA can take gold in A-VM. Only 1 or 2 good formation's and USA can win all A-VM.

But in U.K. they liked real football.

I will go with Yowie the dog form my SB bet. Yowie is undefeated picking all divisional and conference playoff games.

I was inclined to think the same thing. Not so much about the Patriots winning, but that NFL teams who are or have constructed new stadium facilities seemed destined for the superbowl.
