Unlike you, I posted a reputable link. I live in the Mountain West, and we see the reality.

The link is garbage. I live in CA. I know BS when I see it. And that link is BS.

I really don't know where these scientists come up with their data, but here where I live, it was one of the coolest summers, the rainiest winters that I can ever remember. We had very few days over 100 degrees. I live in California. We've already had some record rains this winter as well. And right now, it's really cold outside.

What you describe is not climate. That's weather.

It's just like for hurricanes. You cannot pin a single event on climate change. It's the same for wildfires. However, over the long haul AGW's nudge on regional climate may increase fire weather conditions. For example, the Storm Prediction Center generally looks for RH < 20%, winds > 20 mph, and dry fuels for a certain period of time for their critical fire risk outlooks. There's actually a whole field of meteorology aligned with the study of fire weather. Anyway, It's possible that AGW's effects on some regions will be to increase the frequency of fire weather conditions. At the same time it may decrease the frequency in other regions. Side note, the SPC predicted the current fire weather conditions in California days in advance. They issued extreme (highest) fire risk outlooks on 4 consecutive days. That's a record.

I think I've seen this title "201X Second Hottest Year on record" every year on this forum. If you want to tell me that the "Climate" is getting warmer, but the "weather" is getting colder, it seems to be a bit of a divergent messaging. Seeing the alarmist "Hottest Year on Record" title every year is loosing it's effectiveness like the boy who cried wolf, nobody is listening anymore.

The real driver of climate change is the Milankovitch Cycles. The current AGW conspiracy theory is a hoax and a socialist motivated take over of government.

No wolves involved. 2015-2017 are the 3 hottest years on record. If it's hotter, the dry season is extended in the Western states. These are facts. You shout "conspiracy" from the rooftops. You are claiming that all these organizations - the National Academy of Science, the IPCC, NOAA, NASA - are in a conspiracy. Every one of these thousands and thousands of scientists are living a lie. That's a larger conspiracy theory than the Flat Earth.

That's very cute but there is no evidence that the Earth is warmer than would naturally occur anyway, and definitely no evidence that man is causing global warming. I think they have yet to show any warming in the past 20 years. We are in a "pause" don't you know?

Your delusion is only exceeded by your lack of scientific knowledge and evidence.

Nope. Objectively wrong. There was little difference in sulfate aerosols between the 1910-1940 period of rapid warming and the 1940-1970 period of cooling.
Objectively wrong again. It shows the earth was warm enough for those villages to be inhabited in the Medieval Warm Period.
No it wasn't. You're just objectively wrong again.
No, because CO2 was also low during times when temperature was high.
But sunspot activity was still above normal during the 80s and 90s, when the earth was warming.
Objectively wrong. There's no credible empirical evidence that the earth has warmed significantly since 1998. That's nearly 20 years.
No, it only kills your credibility.
No you don't. You are again just objectively wrong.
Wrong. I'm just willing to know the fact that the sun is the dominant influence, and CO2 is a bit player.

    Where are the satellite photos?
Where are the satellite photos, so we can look at them and compare for ourselves?
But at least the sea ice can be measured objectively from satellite photos. Global mean temperature can't.
    LOL!
    I.e., falsify them.
But it can't be manipulated without detection. The photos show what they show.
No, it's the northern hemisphere that has more temperature variation because it has a lot more land. The southern hemisphere is 90% ocean, which has orders of magnitude more thermal inertia than land.
Only in that the Antarctic is all land and the Arctic ocean is surrounded by land.
Oh, I agree. There is effectively zero chance that warming, even if it is real, will be catastrophic. But at least an ice-free Arctic would show that the earth has actually warmed within recent decades. A manipulated temperature record doesn't.
Yes, polar bear populations have actually been increasing....

The records themselves can't be dishonest. How they are USED has been dishonest.
    Call it 100My.
<sigh> Put a pot of cold water (the earth at the end of the Little Ice Age) on the stove. Turn the element to "high." The water gets warmer, right? Now turn the element down to "medium." Does the water stop getting warmer?

    GET IT?????????
Global warming nonscientists claim it is the only significant recent factor.
Which is wrong, and will be proved wrong within the next ten years. Take it to the bank. Deep learning technology is going to solve climate very soon. The only thing that has stopped it so far is the use of falsified temperature data.
The consensus among AGW know-nothings, that is...
No there isn't. There is effectively none.
It's the sun, stupid. Same thing that caused the previous century-to-millennium-scale warming and cooling periods.

What I do know about science is that it has been widely accepted scientific knowledge that the Earth goes through cycles called the Milankovitch Cycles which is the main driving force behind climate change. I also know that we are currently in an Ice Age that is 2.6 million years old. We are currently in an interglacial period of the ice age known as the Holocene.

There have been at least five major ice ages in the earth's past (the Huronian, Cryogenian, Andean-Saharan, Karoo Ice Age and the Quaternary glaciation). Outside these ages, the Earth seems to have been ice-free even in high latitudes.

Curry andPielke jr deserve to be criticised because that is what academia DOES

To critique research is a foundation of scientific thinking

Scientists don't jus pick a side and believe everything written about anything so long as it has the right political label

I wonder how many on this board would react if Trump suddenly came out and said climate change was real

    Yeeersss

And every one of those had a cause for theclimate change

What is causing the current change?

I am going to stop you right there and address the conspiracy theory thinking

How many scientists are doing this?

Good question. Since the natural causes are unknown and not understood well the man made causes are guessed at with fallible models.

Pielke Jr. was attacked personally for telling the truth about global warming and natural disasters such as floods, hurricanes, and droughts. He was fired from 538 because of this. He was smeared in the worst possible way - for telling the truth (as verified by the IPCC). Pielke Jr. has written two books on global warming - have you read them ?? BTW both he and Curry acknowledge that global warming is occurring. And Sharyl Attkisson documents in detail the smear of Pielke Jr. in her book "The Smear: How Shady Political Operatives and Fake News Control What You See, What You Think, and How You Vote".

Curry has experienced the same but in different ways. She basically retired from GA Tech because she was tired of the BS.

Global warming is real. But there you go again implicitly accusing everyone who is not an alarmist of denying that global warming is occurring.

The current Holocene interglacial period began about 11,700 years ago. It is not a result of man made global warming obviously.

I don't think anyone is saying that climate change is not real. The debate is whether or not man can change the climate. The truth is, the glacial period will return again, and we will not be capable to stop the world from becoming colder and overrun by glaciers.

Bacteria have in the past not only changed the climate but changed the composition of the atmosphere
