Should a citizen give an attacker the benefit of the doubt with the regards to whether a gun is real or a replica? Should they wait until the first shot is fired, or request a closeout of the "weapon" to be sure?

I don’t know many people, actually no one, who has been in a gun fight and shot another that has ever referred to the event as thrilling. It’s a nightmare that never ends with the singular consultation you have to be alive to have a nightmare. The what if’s and why’s never stop.

In the moment there is no thought given to later claims of self defense.

Perhaps. People that spout such crap about the ‘thrill’ or John Wayne/Clint Eastwood fantasies of gun owners have neither been in or talked to a real survivor/winner of a gun fight.

you've been in gun fights? I can draw and hit a human at 25M in under 2 seconds. and that's from concealment. You think you can tell the difference between a real gun and a realistic toy in that 2 second period?

From what I read the robber was pointing the fake gun at the store clerk not the shooter. You don’t think it could have been handled by the shooter ANY differently at all?

He is threatening the clerk's life at that point. (at least bluffing) Do I really have to verify he is not bluffing before I shoot him? How do I verify before he kills the clerk? The BG is fair game because he is making the threat. It's not my fault if he can't back it up.

Should I verify that knives are not rubber while I am at it?

Has a civilian ever needed to defend themselves with a firearm away from their domicile?

Has anyone ever gotten cancer? Had a heart attack? Been in a car accident? Drown in the ocean?

I am sure in your role in Cincinnati, you figured how to see through the smoke, particularly, when it doesn't stop. It will continue... he should never open his mouth in an interview room.

Yeah my first thought is WHY THE **** WOULD YOU WANT SOMEONE TO MEET YOU AT YOUR HOUSE? What the hell were they thinking. You meet a restaurant that is far away and you never go to normally. People are ****ing retarded.
