Problem is - in the (what I think is unlikely) event that DeSantis does run and win, can you see Trump accepting that and supporting him? That is the problem the GOP has, which is why they will have no choice but to support Trump to be the nominee. Trump will have a shot after 2 more disastrous years of this admin, but the anti-Trump vote is going to be tough to overcome

Poor DeSantis, I guess he has to postpone his aspirations to 2028. Also, Fox News is in a bad spot now. Do they jump back onto the losing Trump train, after they almost ditched him since last Tuesday? So many questions to ponder..... To summarize: The GOP deserves every single bit of the drama they have coming in the next two years.
If the Republican Party wants to exorcise Donald Trump from the party, it needs to knock Trump out of the primary race quickly. Also, they need to think of some way to have a shrunken Republican field. In a short field, Trump would be toast. The only reason he won in 2016 is because of the massive Republican tent. The last thing they want is a Trump VS DeSantis finale, so they should look for a third candidate who can be viewed as an alternative to both Trump and DeSantis, and thus take away votes from Trump. The reason I say this, is that if Trump perceives himself as a top-2 Republican, he'll damage Desantis similarly to how McCain and Bush had an infamous primary back in 2000.
My bet is the narcissist will at least threaten to run without official endorsement, and likely will actually run without endorsement from GOP. He believes he has a 'movement' and he is not talking about bowel activity. I know....dickhead...but...it has 'worked' in his eyes so far.
