“The $250 million lawsuit filed by Nick Sandmann against the Washington Post has been dismissed by a federal judge.

U.S. District Judge William Bertelsman, who heard oral arguments earlier this month, issued the ruling on Friday in the case that garnered national attention. Nick became embroiled in a divisive response to an encounter between him, his Covington Catholic High classmates and Native Americans on the National Mall.

Nick has also sued CNN and NBC. Before Friday's dismissal, he was seeking more than three-quarters of $1 billion against the three media companies.”

An outcome that was clearly expected by anyone following the case without an agenda, the claims were frivolous and asked for an irrational sum of money that wrongful death suits do not even reach.

If he would have sought a reasonable sum the case would have likely been settled.

Yeah, $250 million is too much. However, this dismissal sends the wrong message to the media that fake news have no consequences.

The media didn't create the baseline of the news story an independent writer did..

The case was dismissed under First Amendment that the Post quoted the elder native American who claimed that Sandmann blocked his path, intimidated him and stuck his face 10 inches or less from the Indian in a threatening smirking manner.

The judge ruled correctly since it is a first amendment issue

But there was nothing frivolous about the suit.

The paper did manufacture a hatchet job and ignored facts to smear those boys

They may have asked for too much but they had a valid reason to sue.

It would be better to boycott the paper and treat them as a fake news tabloid rag which is exactly how they behaved in the course of that story

All of which is horse **** and had nothing to do with the first amendment

The judge made a good timing but that little narrative you spun is total crap

The media comes out this looking evil (as always).

They don’t publish “news”. They only publish crap that advances their agenda, and it’s usually half-truths or lies. Pravda.

This is why 9% of the public trusts the media, mainly those with learning disabilities.

What facts did the paper manufacture?
The plaintiff’s legal team couldn’t seem to point to any.

Big name media from CNN, MSNBC, NYT, and WaPo went with the story without verifying. Their goal was not about these kids allegedly disrespecting this native elder guy. They were out to nail Trump using these kids as pawns.

The media’s objective is to report news, not cheering or skewing the news. They deviate from their objective. Consequences follow.

Yes, the media looks bad on this one. They saw a kid with a MAGA hat and made every attempt to infer he was a racist which could only mean that anyone with a MAGA hat is probably also a racist and they only support Trump because Trump is a racist. Even Hellen Keller saw through this.

Ok, what facts did they ignore?

They followed the story, posted updates and even retractions.

    No they did not

They ignored the fact that the Indian punk sought out the confrontation

That was proven by video on day one but they spun it as the kids getting in his face

They did not do their professional research and spun the story as racist kids

It was the other way around

Every claim of the convington kiss was proven from day one but the wapo rag refused to cover it in an honest manner until forced to do so by the fact that the public saw the real story.

It was a smear job and dishonest and unprofessional

The judge made a good ruling but that rag deserves the reputation of a tabloid

and from his point of view that is what was happening, some times their are two points of view such as this case, the media reported both as they were learned

They released the video that they were given.
Upon new information they posted said information.
    They then posted a retraction.

Just repeating it doesn’t make it true.
Feel free to show they intentionally hid evidence or were even aware of contradictions in the story.

The legal team failed to prove this, maybe you can.

Here’s hoping the media outlets countersue for their legal fees.
