3,500 U.S. companies have brought a legal suit against the Trump administration for imposed import tariffs on over $300 Billion of Chinese made products imported into the USA. The suit says they were imposed outside the time limits of the law in violation of international trade agreements and are in no way tied to intellectual property theft. The suing companies include Tesla,Ford,Volvo,Home Depot,Target,Walgreens,Pep Boys,Calloway Golf,Sysco Corp and hundreds of other leading U.S. companies.

Good for them while I certainly understand why Trump did what he did, I can understand why the companies are suing as well....I guess we shall see what the Court does.

Hmm.... maybe if those companies got more of their parts American then they wouldn't have to worry about tariffs.

Assuming that what you say is true since you didn't provide a link.

    Not to mention that............

"The World Trade Organization (WTO) said Tuesday that President Trump’s tariffs on more than $400 billion in Chinese goods violate international trade regulations.

In a Tuesday report, a panel of three WTO adjudicators ruled that the U.S. was unable to prove its tariffs on Chinese products were necessary to level the global trade playing field. The ruling does not obligate the U.S. to scrap the tariffs, but finds that the Trump administration “has not met its burden of demonstrating that the measures are provisionally justified.”
    https://thehill.com/policy/finance/516501-wto-rules-trump-tariffs-on-chinese-goods-illegal

However, as we know, appealing to Trump supporter's recognition of the validity of international trade rules, or US law for that matter, has not been successful.

To put it another way, these companies doing the suing would prefer that we buy Chinese goods rather than American goods.

Yeah, I googled the OP and couldn't turn up those results.

So this is what the article says, in laymen terms, for discussion purposes.

"A bunch of companies that do significant business in the United States outsourced their manufacturing to China to increase profits. They invested a lot of money in China, laying off Americans, and still raising most of the revenue in the US.

These companies are suing because they are mad Trump is looking out for the Americans and these companies are mad they don't get to have their cake and eat it too ****ing the American people"

The companies doing the suing have customers and contracts to meet. They'd like to make a profit.

In laymen's terms it says nothing of the sort. You must be using the secret Trump decoder ring that turns everything in to bullsh......in to disinformation that suits the Liar-in-Chief's purposes.

So instead of debating what I actually said, you attack me personal and deflect.

If that's the best you got, run along because you're out of your league.

    It's a global economy. Tariffs don't create American jobs. They're a tax.

Ford GM and Fiat/Chrysler sold more vehicles in China than in the USA in recent years, and Boeing USED TO BE our largest dollar volume exporter for many years including sales to China. This trade war created by Dirty Donald is not going to help their sales over there. Shrinking Chinese sales will result in less U.S. jobs, not more.

Yes it is a tax and democrats love taxes. No problem there.

However, yes, it is a global economy. However, the tax adds to the price for the customer and in a capitalist economy, there is also competition. If the tax is high enough to make the American goods the same price or lower than the Chinese goods including the tax,, they will buy the American goods.

I am not sure where you are getting your information, but it is not even close. Ford sold over two million vehicles in the US in 2019. They sold less than six hundred thousand in China.

Free trade creates wealth. While your numbers on auto exports may be correct, the point stands. There are 1.4 billion potential customers in China.
