It was on TV last night on one of the History channels. After a year of effort based on reports from natives, scientists confirmed the new species does exist in the Congo. The videos show a quite hefty live example. My impression was that it is not as darkly colored as other types. The TV program was presenting some optimism for the prospects of cryptozoology in discovering more about Bigfoot.

Well, I ain't seen one, so they do not exist. Those scientists are just seeing things. It was probably a midget gorilla.

Skepticism can be healthy, but in this case you're just shooting from the hip. They're actually known as bili chimps or maybe billi chimps depending on the source of info. The name refers to the forest where they are found in the northern part of the Congo. They are also called Bondo chimps.
