He should have no problem with these, I guess: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...ars-detroit-auto-show/?utm_term=.3b1d72140870
Both yourself and @Rucker61 are either doing one of two things. 1) Advertising your glaring ignorance and are not candidates to own a gun. or 2) Fooling about. I imagine it's the former. F1 cars have a reverse gear, but these are designed to satisfy the regulations rather than being of much practical use. Not of much use for town use. Noise. Say no more but predestrians don't wear ear defenders. Speed, too fast. Tyre temperature is important. The tyres need to be warm to work, to do that you need speed. Doing over 100mph through town is not viable. Changing to car tyres won't work because the warm tyres provide grip. Plus you won't get the down force. You pair are not suitable to own guns to be honest.
Plain and simple: that will never happen. Even if they passed such a law, mass civil disobedience would render it moot.
Finally you present actual points to discuss, rather than just bandying about with one liners. Yes, F1 cars would likely be too loud without mufflers. That can likely be remedied. Tyre temperature is important at 250 mph; at 55 mph, not so much, and here's what you fail to note, you don't have to drive at 250 mph just because you're in an F1, anymore than those who own Ferraris or Porsches, cars capable of 200 MPH or so, are not allowed on public roads. In any case, you are phenomenally unqualified to determine who is or is not suitable to own firearms.
I have owned (and carried in public, legally) firearms for years. Never shot anything except a piece of paper or a steel target. Never had a need to draw in public. Never, except for Army training, pointed a gun at a human being. Most serious "crime" I've ever been convicted of is speeding. I did get my license suspended once (for fewer than 24 hours) for forgetting to pay a $10 ticket for a 1-day expired tag. I have never been in handcuffs except for kinky sex-play at home (well, and elsewhere). In short, I'm EXACTLY the kind of person you want owning firearms. People in public are safer around me, even if they don't know it. As for your technical reasons for not wanting F1 cars on the road, modifications can be made. Roadworthy tires can be used. Lights can be added. Mufflers can be installed. As several people have pointed out, myself included, there are already street-legal cars available that can hypothetically go as fast, or almost as fast, as an F1 car, and there is no rash of people doing 200 mph on a regular basis.
