Some of the problem is also societal view of tradie versus university education. Somewho we have got the Idea that tradies are "lower class" where in truth a good tradie can make WAAAAY more money than the average university graduate :D

Maccas and KFC are great training grounds for employability and interpersonal skills and can be applied across all workplaces, for young people who have no workplace experience that is. Working and studying is a massive undertaking though, don't you think BB, especially for mature aged students with children??

With regard to your other post....yeah, there are a few construction trades that are well paid in excess of a many uni qualified professions. These days parents don't like the thought of their babies being out in the hot sun or doing heavy lifting and therefore promote university as the ultimate pathway. As a subbie there is so much flexibility in life and can pick or choose what jobs you want generally. If it's a horrible job, you quote high. If you get the job then it is a win.

    Yeah,
$100 an hour for a plumber or electrician. The dentist I saw last time is aiming at $1000/h.
Make me King of Australia, and I have them all nailed on a cross......
The dentist after fixing me, of course....
    Regards
