    https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/09/us/north-carolina-earthquake-charlotte/index.html

Just what we "need" an earthquake during the Corona VIRUS right after a hurricane and during economic downturn due to the federal level of government mishandling the VIRUS.

Did we pissoff the gods or just pissoff God? Instead of watching the news we could just read the section on Revelations and be forewarned LOL!

You have to wonder is God paying us back for electing that guy who sits on the Oval Throne?
Can we fix things with God by changing who we let sit on the Oval Throne this November? Was Mikey Nostradomsky right? Any thoughts?

Fortunately, pretty minor.... I Google-Earthed this town, and it's pretty close to great hiking area in Virginia... Mount Rogers, the high point in Virginia... Did that 7-8 years ago...

Hopefully the early reports of no deaths or injuries are true...

If God wants to spend more time with Trump, he needs better aim with his earthquakes...

Doesn't happen often, but not that uncommon. When I working in Aberdeen, MD in 2011, we had one there.

It's just the flow of events when my iPHONE flashed the alert this morning as I was walking in the woods in back of my place enjoying peace and then I read the news flash. My thoughts were WTF ? I just told God to leave us alone were are good AMERICANS go pick on North Koreans, Russians or Middle Eastern Terrorists.

Well doesn't sound like there was much damage, and no one got hurt.

Huh, I didn't even know there were seismic zones in that region, but since there is a mountain range in the vicinity, it makes sense.

Welcome to my world, residents of NC. Born and raised in California, where a 5.1 is minor unless centered on a big population area. They don't even wake me up unless they are above 5.5. ;-)

I have been in a 5.5, the only time in my life. Spooked me for a long time.

You haven't lived until a 6.5 throws you out of bed at 5 a.m. Had a bruise on my left hip the size of a cantalope for weeks.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1971_San_Fernando_earthquake

The one on 1994 was 6.7, but I was living in NYC at the time.

I lived in Japan for a while. Earthquakes are quite common there (upwards of 1500/yr). Most were just small tremors, but we had some big ones. I remember seeing waves come across the ground like it was water. Sometimes it was a rocking back and forth, and other times is was strong vibration with an upward kick at the end.

Now THIS is an angry God... was trying to find a place to post this video and an Earthquake thread seemed about right as it doesn't warrant its own thread...

Seriously, everybody should watch this video.... I've never seen anything like it from lightning... (have your sound on)

How cute! a 5.1! I live in Los Angeles and we don't even get out of bed for anything less than a 6.5. God is busy putting the fix on sporting events.

When Inwas stationed down South a quarter inch of snow was an acapolypse for our Southern friends.

Side stepping the whole theological stuff, isn't the area of the earthquake in the vicinity of the fracking done in Virginia?

Not sure. The epicenter was supposed to be along the NC and the VA border. I am not familiar with fracking in tat area.

You may be right,,,looks like the epicentervwas near the Dan River basin and looks like the epicentervwas nearby.
