That was the a major background of his running for office. Even after he was elected he continued to assure Americans that Mexico would pay for the wall. Maybe we do need the wall, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna support it being built with US tax dollars because Trump lied while running for office. He'd better work out one of those deals with Mexico that he's so famous for doing.

 

We are building the wall NOT because trump wants to but the American people demand it

If it's paid for by Mexican dollars upfront, I'll applaud it; if it's built using my taxpayer dollars then I'll be against it. Its all about principal to me.

 

Do you want people walking around with communicable diseases? How'd you like to contract ebola or some other airborne disease? Use your brain, think!

That's fine but I'm talking about the illegals already in country; if they cannot get medical help, they risk spreading whatever communicable diseases and infect the general population.

 

You originally said you are not willing to pay for the wall, I'm pointing out that if you don't pay for the wall you will pay for healthcare of all those illegals that walk across our border.

 

i'm okay with that due to the public health issue being in the best interests of the American people. If we want the wall, fine but let the Mexicans pay for it. Trump told us when running for office, the Mexicans would pay for the whole thing, so when we get the money from them, then we build it.

 

If we build the wall the cost will be offset by money we save in healthcare for illegals who will cross if we don't.

 

My issue is that I don't think we should be laying out any money up front; whatever money is collected from Mexico should go into an account and once we have enough, then build the wall. I would have no issue with that, Trump claims he is the best deal maker in the world; why hasn't he cut a deal with Mexico to pay for the wall??

 

Build the wall first get the money from Mexico later.

 

So what is the Democratic Party's plan to get other countries to pay the health costs, food stamps and other welfare of their citizens illegally in our country? Shouldn't those countries "be laying out the money up front" for those costs "on principle?"

 

That's not what we were told when he was running for office. You know as well as I do that it's highly unlikely that we'll ever recover the full cost of building the wall. They'll build the wall, the government will kiss and makeup with Mexico and forgive the what is owed to us. Sorry but I don't trust the government to recover the money afterwards.

Aside from that, there is a human element involved. Would you like desperate, starving people committing petty crimes against you in order to buy /steal food in an attempt to survive? Would you like to drive into town and see dead bodies lying in the street of people who starved to death? Would it be okay for illegals to walk around carrying communicable diseases to spread around since they cannot receive medical attention?? You have to make a choice; lay out monies until the issue is resolved or allow the country to become another Mozambique type country.

 

Politics aside we'd be better off to be preemptive and build the wall instead of providing healthcare to illegals that will cross without it.
