most go home when their visa's expire, and most illegals here came here legally

republicans love handing out h1b visas

There is no immigration clause because there doesn’t need to be one. The Constitution confers all powers on the government that are expected of a sovereign state. One of those powers is the ability to protect its border and control the entry of foreign citizens.

Nothing but right wing unitary and more socialist propaganda and rhetoric?

The Republican doctrine claims if it is not Expressly there, it doesn't exist.

I heard yesterday that in the Silicon Valley, the foreign born outnumber native born Americans today.
The average H-1B foreigner in the Silicon Valley makes $120 K per years.

American govt schools are an abject failure. Combine that with a piss poor work ethic and companies are more or less forced to look overseas for skilled labor.

Unlike in America, schools in India and China don't indoctrinate students in cultural-marxism.

China absolutely does. They also have a tiered education system in which educators and political theorists decide what level of schooling students get.

China being Chi-Com doesn't need to indoctrinate young people in cultural-marxism aka political correctness.
China is already there, a commie socialist country.

yep, it's sad, the corps donate to the politicians and the politicians give then H-1B's

once enough H-1B's are trained to do what we do, they go back to places like India and take the jobs with them

    I noticed that.

Then you have those H1B visa holders who apply for permanent immigration visas.

I wonder if the law is being enforced that the H1B visa holders have to return to their home country and apply for an immigration visa at the American Embassy or consulate ?

We know that the Obama, Bush (43) and Clinton administrations weren't enforcing America's immigration laws.

we are actually better off if they woudl of all stayed, it was the ones going back home and taking American jobs with them that is the real issue

they now train people in India to take our jobs

information is power and the USA is giving that power to India on a silver platter.. seems like a national security risk to me

Of course, the H1B Visa program is intended to provide temporary work. Either as a way to bring in for a period of 3-6 years skilled individuals from other countries where there is a shortage in the US, or so that a foreigner who attended college in the US could then use their new degree for "on the job experience" prior to returning home.

It was never intended as an "immigration" system, and traditionally any such Visa holder who overstayed their Visa was then thrown out, like any other illegal alien.

And most of those highly paid SV employees are programmers, which is not unusual. A highly skilled programmer is like a highly skilled musician or painter. It is not a skill that just anybody can learn, and the demand is always high. Especially in a field where constant study is required to keep your skills "fresh".

And most do return home when they have finished their "Internship". Those are the individuals who have in the last decade transformed India into the preferred country for off-shore programming. India really is a powerhouse in the IT sector, primarily because of those individuals who returned home with the skills they learned here.

The .Com I worked for several years ago maintained 2 call centers. The main one was in California, the "after hours" one was in India. We also employed 2 coding teams. The initial "brute force - proof of concept" code was done in India (the segment that took multiple man-years of programming), but the final "Application Phase" of the programming was always finished here in the US.

We need to cut way back on military spending. We need to stop using our military as a tool to exploit the resorces of other countries and limit it to the sole purpose of self defence of the country.

The U.S. is not defendable within its own borders.

How would you suggest the U.S. go about defending itself? How many active duty soldiers? How many ships in the navy? Composition of that navy. How many aircraft in the air force? Numbers and types of aircraft? How many nuclear weapons? Number and types of each delivery vehicle?

That is wrong and we are still running around the world to claim other peoples oil for EXXON, BP, and other really rich people. They get the gullible to jump all in... USA USA... then they sit in private laughing it up... Did you see that knucklehead in the hat chanting USA ? Yep,,, my family is gonna get rich while that guy continues to lose a dollar a day.

So then spending 7T on 80 different WARS is how we do it ? Here :
All while dissing our own, helping the rich, wall street, Biotech, and at the same time deny millions healthcare, affordable housing and cutting payscale YoY for 30 years ?

I guess the next thing you say is wages are up over the last year 5% ? same thing was said in 2007 right before the collapse. Facts are 5% inflation YoY in real inflation while FED and CNBC promotes 1% (a lie) and wages have gone nowhere.
How it could be 30 years of the same republican, and many democratic lies and PEOPLE are still lost to the facts is beyond me. I think most posters that continue to support Supply side Reaganomics are paid to do so. Everyone is taking it on the chin except those paid to lie.

How can you claim the U.S. is "fighting for oil"?

And I have nothing to do with so called "right wing think tanks"

To many on the far-left, everything is ultimately about money. I can't tell you how many times I have had idiots try to tell us our involvement in "Afghanistan, and the rest of the Middle East" was over oil. Uhhh, there is almost no oil in Afghanistan. And it is not in the Middle East (neither is Libya). And not all Muslims are Arabs, even in the Middle East. Try calling somebody from Iran an "Arab" and see how they react to you.

We are also strong allies with Israel, the only country that actually is in the Middle East with almost no oil reserves. If all we cared about was oil, we would have thrown them to the wolves decades ago. That there is the single biggest hole in their flawed logic.

Remember, many on the far-left today are Marxists. And to a Marxist, absolutely everything is about money. They are the most greedy and selfish people I have met. Oh, and racist and incredibly ignorant. They do not care about facts, they make their own facts as they go along and scream at anybody that calls them on it.

And before somebody blows up, I did specify "far-left". As always, I said what I meant, and mean what I say. I did not say "all liberals", or anything even remotely like that. But the farther one goes towards either side of the political spectrum (right OR left), the less reasonable and reliant on facts I tend to find them. Far too often lately I have been ending up with those who cherry pick what I say, then try to twist it to something completely different.

Ironic that people forget the U.S. has been fighting Muslims in the Middle East centuries BEFORE Israel was created and a century BEFORE the first oil well was drilled.

To be fair, Libya is not in the "Middle East". But yes, we have been fighting Muslims in that area since Thomas Jefferson was President.

Most often, "Middle East" is a generic term for the region across northern Africa to Iran.
