6.1 Million Individuals Off Food Stamps Under Donald Trump
    https://www.breitbart.com/economy/2...dividuals-off-food-stamps-under-donald-trump/

Approximately 6.1 million individuals dropped off the food stamp rolls since President Donald Trump’s first full month in office in February 2017, according to the latest data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

The USDA data showed that 6,074,074 individuals discontinued their participation in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) between February 2017— when the president completed his first full month in office— and November 2019.

COMMENT: Obama actually encouraged foodstamps with nice ads. That's how sick that fool was. Trump is winning for America

Trumpists never cease to amaze. After only a few days in office six million people are off food stamps! A miracle! The fear and trepidation of Trump's magnificent rule caused "takers" to flee food stamps in favor of ????? Think about it! After only a few hours, food stamp recipients disappeared - poof!

What next? What could top this? Perhaps we could find that missing server in Ukraine. Maybe the feds could find that Hillary pizza site that sold children into sexual slavery. The possibilities are endless.

Yeah. Reading is a thing. It says since his first month in office. That means in 3 years, not a "a few days".

This thread was DOA with the first 3 words... Anybody who believes Trump is the "Greatest President Ever" is living in Oompa Loompa land, which is appropriate with their orange hue...

(Invalid Thread title for this forum, BTW)

He may not end up being the Worst President Ever, but he's certainly in the running... Was only 3rd worst last year (pre impeachment)

    https://scri.siena.edu/2019/02/13/sienas-6th-presidential-expert-poll-1982-2018/

Will be an interesting race... he still has 11 months to take #1, but Johnson and Buchanan are a pretty high bar...

    I'm rooting for ya, Donnie...

This is a win for everyone. It's a win for the people who don't need "food stamps" anymore with the booming economy. It's a win for encouraging able-bodied people to make an effort towards bettering themselves and getting a job. Lastly, it's a win for the taxpayers who have been paying for these programs. Win, win, win.

I can't see a single way a left winger can spin this as a negative, but I know they will try....

Fake Don struts in celebration of creating a massive national debt despite his vow to slash it, failure to enact his "something terrific!" healthcare
that covers "everybody!" at "less cost!", instead depriving millions of coverage, utterly ignoring the crumbling infrastructure he promised to save,
and suffering the disgrace of being only the third US president in US history to be impeached, a legacy that will endure.
Did the Bush recession require aid be provided to feed Americans?

    Indeed.

The number of people receiving food aid under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (formerly known as “food stamps”) rose by a third under Obama.

In Obama’s last month in office, there were just under 42.7 million Americans receiving SNAP assistance, a gain of 10.7 million or just under 33.5 percent from January 2009.

The number grew as the 2007-2009 recession threw millions out of work, as benefit levels were boosted for several years by the stimulus legislation Obama signed in 2009. The average benefit per person went up from around $113 per person in January 2009 to around $134 in July.

At the peak of food stamp enrollment in December 2012, a total of 47.8 million were receiving aid, an increase of nearly 16 million or 49 percent.

But then millions melted from the rolls as employment and incomes improved, and as Congress cut benefit levels, which dropped to a monthly average of around $124 per person in Obama’s final month.

Measured from his first month to his last, benefit levels and enrollment both grew less under Obama than under his predecessor.

Under George W. Bush, the number of people getting food stamps grew by 14.7 million, or 85 percent (compared with the 10.7 million, 33 percent gain under Obama). The average monthly benefit per person grew from $73.89 in the month Bush took office to $113.60 the month he left. That’s a 54 percent increase, compared with the 9 percent gain at the end of Obama’s time in office...
    • During Obama's tenure:

    • The economy gained a net 11.6 million jobs. The unemployment rate dropped to below the historical norm.
    • Average weekly earnings for all workers were up 4.0 percent after inflation. The gain was 3.7 percent for just production and nonsupervisory employees.
    • After-tax corporate profits also set records, as did stock prices. The S&P 500 index rose 166 percent.
    • The number of people lacking health insurance dropped by 15 million. Premiums rose, but more slowly than before.
    • The federal debt owed to the public rose 128 percent. Deficits were rising as Obama departed.
    • Home prices rose 20 percent. But the home ownership rate hit the lowest point in half a century.
    • Illegal immigration declined: The Border Patrol caught 35 percent fewer people trying to get into the U.S. from Mexico.
    • Wind and solar power increased 369 percent. Coal production declined 38 percent. Carbon emissions from burning fossil fuel dropped 11 percent.
    • Production of handguns rose 192 percent, to a record level.
    • The murder rate dropped to the lowest on record in 2014, then rose and finished at the same rate as when Obama took office.
The Obama years, which began in the middle of the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression, and ended with the highest level of household income ever recorded.

It did not take long for the obamapologists to credit Barry for the Bush economic recovery.

I don't know what's so hard to understand about this. A red White House is always about self independence and doing for yourself and earning your way. A blue White House is about "vote for me so you can be lazy and get free stuff from the working class."

The black community, of all people, should see that as a slap in the face. It was (D) Lyndon B. Johnson who started that program after he said he had a plan that would keep *blacks voting for democrats for the next 200 years.

*Of course we all know he didn't use the term "blacks".

    Anti-Trumpers never cease to amaze.

If 3 years translates to a few days then I don't understand what the hate-Trump fuss is all about. By your logic, Trump will finish his 2nd term in just over a week.

Hating someone because of the color of their skin is racist, remember?

Anyways, nice poll. A college in NY that uses a methodology based on how the most likely voters at Siena College answer the provided questions.

Anybody stupid enough to consider Lincoln AND Obama as two of the best presidents are clearly f*cked on their history. Lincoln would've repatriated Obama so fast his head would've spun. He hated blacks. But the thing is, unlike obama, Lincoln didn't want to keep his boot on their neck, he just wanted them out of here. Obama did nothing for the black community outside of keeping them in line for a free check. Trump's economy produced jobs to help them.

I feel like the number should be higher, I applaud the 6.1 million for making strides forward.

As far as why I think there should be more, we should try not to underestimate people who know how to game the system. Free money is something that people will jump through hoops to keep receiving. (not just snap, but other stuff)

I dealt with that with a part time employee that was on gov't assistance a few years ago, she knew EXACTLY where she stood on annual income and turned down extra work towards the end of the year because she refused to go over the threshold. She said she'd do the extra work for cash, but not for w2 income, it was frustrating to be brutally honest, and a reminder that there are likely many many more just like her that "manage" their income to maximize their benefits. This would include minimizing income, staying single to avoid household income thresholds, and god knows what else.

Needless to say in my case, a few weeks later we decided that technology had made our office less labor intensive, so we had a decision to make on who's hours to cut, we decided to cut her position out completely and got rid of her. I don't want employees that refuse work because in order to get government money, it goes against my principles.

Apparently they didn't teach reading comprehension during your finger painting class.

Anyway....most Americans, including those that were once on food stamps, are happy to see people coming off the program! It's nice to see this President getting people back to work, it's nice to see the end of the Food Stamp President that was Obama.

They'll tell us the jobs are second jobs or part-time jobs. Calling that a bad thing, even though it's not true, is as bad as Pelosi calling our tax decrease "crumbs."
