Yes, the shooter has been arrested and charged with Capital Murder, after being turned in by the driver of the pickup.

 

You're mistaken. The driver of the pickup was a bystander mistakenly identified, a white guy who hurried away when he heard shots. A black guy who was driving a rented car from which the shots were fired got busted, confessed, is named an accomplice and identified his passenger, the perpetrator (another black guy). They apparently misidentified the car the victim was travelling in as one of some rival gang member. This was an ordinary drug-related gang crime of the sort that daily plagues the black community and is discussed here, at first because it was thought to be evidence of some presumably Trump-related hate crime by a white nativist, and now will dissipate since they can't carry on that theme given the evidence.

For someone who would do that type of thing, do you think preventing them from getting a gun would have prevented them from going on to commit a murder?
