Many entered the hospital because they tested positive. Their chest x-rays showed massive viral infection, so even though their symptoms were mild, elevated breathing, low fever, they were drugged and intubated.

Many hospitals have stopped doing that.

IMO, the most vulnerable population should be taking a low preventive dose of hydroxychloroquine for a few weeks, and common supplements that have shown some effectiveness in protecting lung function and the immune response. NAC, vitamin C and D = cheap reassurance until more effective treatments or a vaccine become available.

The results of antibody testing should have reduced the panic over this pandemic.

"A model predicting the progression of the novel coronavirus pandemic produced by researchers at Imperial College London set off alarms across the world and was a major factor in several governments' decisions to lock things down. But a new model from Oxford University is challenging its accuracy, the Financial Times reports."
YAHOO NEWS, New Oxford study suggests millions of people may have already built up coronavirus immunity, The Week , By Tim O'Donnell, March 24, 2020.

That's easy they'd rather die than risk Trump being right about anything. It's typical leftist mob mentality

They may also have been misled by the absurd reporting on that VA "study".

The French data is now extensive and very persuasive. Hydroxychloroquine is very effective.

We need more real journalists to start asking the kind of questions journalists were taught to ask in J-school.
The "reporters" at these press briefings are useless creatures.

    What an interesting claim.

How are the ventilators killing people? What's the mechanism?

Is it the same mechanism in ice cream that causes shark attacks?

And hypoxia was severe so I would not call that “mild symptoms”

Millions of people take the drug for Lupus and Malaria. Have any of those people taking hydroxychloroquine been hospitalized with this novel coronavirus?
Has heart failure been a serious side effect taking hydroxychloroquine for the millions who already take the drug?

Has the large French study of the use of hydroxychloroquine to treat this pandemic revealed any serious side effects?

Ooh answering a question with a question.

    How novel.

What is the mechanism by which ventilators are killing people?

    Why start with personal attack?

Read the source. Patients were being intubated even though they were fully functioning.

I work at a store with 200 employees that has been open through this whole thing..
I don't know of anyone who has contracted the virus. The only cases i have heard about have been on the news.

I'm not suggesting that i disbelieve the virus but i have no first hand evidence that any of this is happening.. i guess I'll just be thankful.

The deaths of patients on ventilators are certainly real, but the mortality rate for this pandemic is remarkably low.

No they were incubated because he PaO2/FiO2 ratio indicated that they would not have a chance of surviving unless they were ventilated

    More than you do

Hydroxychloroquine would not have gotten even a second glance we’re it not for Trump and that right royal idiot in France who seems to think it will cure everything from gallstones to broken windows.

Even the most cursory review of research would show that although HCQ does have a promising in vitro effect it has never demonstrated a measurable in vivo effect despite being investigated for use in other viruses

Read the source. They were all functioning and active with slightly lower O2 levels. Read the source.
Ventilators were not even the best way to raise those levels.
