I will leave the last word to the US military apologists as I have proven beyond a doubt that the US military have a history of rape and ever increasing rape and sexual assault figures to this very day.

    Hey, we can do that!

Gotta love those Japanese during WWII. They even ran such things in their newspapers like it was a sporting event!

For those that do not know, during WWII there was a real contest between 2 Japanese officers, to see who could behead 100 people with a sword first. The winner could not be determined, so they went into "extra innings", with the new total being 150. It was run in the major newspapers in Japan like it was a baseball game, with weekly totals, and betting pools.

And yes, after the war was concluded, both officers were tried for crimes against humanity and executed.

But this is ignored in favor of bashing the US military incessantly...

Does this mean that killing civilians is rampant in the British military?

I actually rather enjoy some of the people who participate in these threads. It reminds me of debates with my favorite uncle, Jack.

Now Jack is a knee-jerk Liberal, Socialist, who has lived off of the government almost his entire adult life. He hates anything Conservative, Republican, or dealing with the military.

Yet I am the only member of the family that has anything to do with him. I do not love him for his politics, but because he is my uncle. And even though my dad and everybody else thinks I am crazy to talking with him, he is still my uncle.

And we get into political debates many times. He will bring up many of the same kinda of arguments that those in here do, and I simply respond back with other information. No matter how mad he tries to make me, it does not work.

And my wife of over 25 years is also a life-long Democrat. And as a nurse, when he tried to get her into a discussion about Health Care, she laid into him with a ton of facts that left him with nowhere to go. He tried to parrot the "party line" at her, and she threw it all right back at him (including how as a nurse, "Government Health Care" in California made her take a 10% pay cut).

Politically, I am pretty neutral. I am Conservative in some things, Liberal in others. And I really do get a kick out of seeing how some people in one debate will attack me constantly for my stance in one thing, then turn right around and support me in another for my stance there.

Good example, not to long ago we had one about my belief that we need to cut the number of nuclear warheads we have (I would love to see the total number at 0 eventually). There I was attacked by "Conservatives" who said I did not want to see a strong military. Yet in here, I am attacked for "being a lapdog for the military".

I guess it really is true, the only thing you get for being "middle of the road" is that you get hit by both sides. But I do not care, I will continue to stand by my convictions.

    Exactly...

In one thread, you'll have right-wingers attacking you about being a lib, then, in another, left-wingers will attack you about being a con...

Some will even tell that refusing to toe the party line means you're afraid to take a stance on anything, for taking your own stance on something...lol

    It's extraordinarily sad...

That's what politics have come down to today.

If you show any conservative tendencies you're right wing religious nutjob.

If you shown any liberal tendencies you're a morally bankrupt socialist.

This is why I'd love to see a viable third political party.
