I've found this video that tells about the poorest states being Republican. While the only Republican state that is in the top ten richest states is Alaska where they use this socialistic principle of redistributing the income from the oil industry.
So, do you think the statistics are correct? What do you think are the reasons?

Many of the Republican States are in the South, with higher ratio of Blacks or Hispanics in the population.
Meanwhile, West Virginia is very mountainous and rural. People have to be self-sufficient, and that is not reflected in the income statistics.

Since you want to look at a statistical breakdown then I can safely say that this video and any other article or piece of media that talks about "states" is complete and utter crap. When doing statistics you use the smallest unit of measurement available. In this case you would use individual voters since we already know the breakdown of voting habits and income. The Democrats get the vast majority of the poor vote but the GOP wins the vote of people with income over $50,000. Even Romney won despite his horrid showing. Even using a source hostile to the GOP like the New York Times shows this.

This comes out every few years and the left does it because they know some people are stupid enough to fall for it and too lazy to double check it.

    http://elections.nytimes.com/2012/results/president/exit-polls

Romney also won the majority of the college educated vote so you can put that "Republicans are stupid hicks" bull(*)(*)(*)(*) to rest as well.

This one shows a handy history. With the exceptions of 1996 and 2008 where there Democratic candidate trounced the GOP candidates, every other election people with higher incomes vote Republican.

    http://elections.nytimes.com/2008/results/president/national-exit-polls.html

You will also note that going back the the 1980s the Republicans win the college educated vote. The Democrats clean up big time with the low income and the less educated vote (not surprising since you have to be an idiot to believe in progressive ideology) The Democrats get the post graduate vote but there are far fewer of those than there are Bachelor degree holders.

On a positive note to the poor, most people who appear to be doing so well are actually about a quarter million dollars in debt with a mortgage, cars and credit cards. They spend their lives super stressed just trying to stay current with their monthly bills, in constant fear of a potentially looming disaster. Meanwhile, the poor don't have those huge debt burdens hanging over their heads 24/7. Such debtless freedom can bring great relief as long as one has the basic necessities. Just a thought....

These Republican states have another thing in common: they are the biggest welfare recipients in the form of federal subsidization from Washington, DC than any other portion of the country.

Poorest states? What does that mean? Does it take into consideration that the cost of living varies from place to place. Such that a dollar buys twice as much in one place than another. I also suspect that most of the states with the highest percentage of people on welfare are Democrat states. Not to mention crime rates.

Every time you guys try to gloat about this, I always have to remind you of a little uncomfortable fact. You can't be the "party of the poor" if you have all the money. So which one is it, Democrats? Are you rich and fabulous or poor and noble?

I believe there is a correlation, but it's not the type of cause-and-effect relationship Democrats would like to think there is.
In my view, it is the same factors which cause the average people to be poorer which also cause those States to lean Republican.

Let's not forget, correlation does not imply causation.

Get it right, correlation does not necessarily imply causation, but can if there is a high degree of reliable statistical evidence.

That's 9 of 10 of the poorest states being Republican despite massive net imports of federal dollars. Frigging Republican welfare queens.

Your assumption is wrong when you consider that red states get far more in federal subsidies than blue and that oil and farming industries in those states get more subsidization than any other group of industries. Therefore, it is Republican states that get more welfare.

But doesn't the whole nation and the world(rather than only those few states) benefit from/and consume the food and fuel?

You might want to review "Cost of Living" in these States...In the so called "poorest" States, the cost of living can be half that, of the richest States.

Said another way; I once owned a House in SE Mo. that in 1993 Cost 40K, a used statistic, but in SF or NYC that same house would have cost 300K or more....

So you Democrats have actually figured out how to get your beloved distribution, give it to Republicans.

So this year I expect a bigger check. You can mail the difference directly to me.
