About 94 percent of foreign nationals incarcerated in federal prisons across the United States are illegal aliens who either crossed international borders illegally or overstayed their visas, the Department of Justice reveals.

Many of these persons in prison were convicted of other crimes, besides just illegally residing in the US.

It's not really a big surprise those who would break the law by illegally crossing into the country would also be much more likely to break other laws. (When it comes to illegal immigration, the US isn't exactly getting the "best and brightest" from the other countries where they come from)

Yet another way they drain the system. Democrats all raised their grubby little hands to give them "free" health care, yet want to fine YOU as an American if you dont buy the garbage that is Obama'care'.

While they participated early on, you cant say they wholly "invented it." In the end, not one voted for it.

Cooperation with Republicans had the blessing of the highest Democratic authority. President Obama, seeking a "grand bargain" on health reform, conferred his benediction to continue discussions with any Republican senator willing to participate, but by the fall of 2009 it was clear that having the support of only one or two GOP senators would not be enough Republican DNA to support a plausible claim of bipartisanship. It was at this point that the work did move behind closed doors and into the leadership suite of Democratic leader Harry Reid.

Another Federal Government study along the same lines...

Federal report shows open borders bring increased crimes and costs for taxpayers

According to a new report from the U.S. Justice Department, almost half of all of the criminals prosecuted in federal courts in 2018 were aliens, charged with crimes ranging from drug trafficking to murder to kidnapping. While a small number of those over 41,000 criminals were in this country legally, the vast majority – 38,000 – were illegal aliens. Compare this to 1998, when there were only a little over 18,000 aliens prosecuted in federal courts.

In addition to the horrendous human costs of their crimes, when you consider the costs of law enforcement related to their arrest, prosecution, and incarceration, these aliens are also costing U.S. taxpayers a tremendous amount of money. According to the government, the incarceration cost alone for criminals serving time in federal prisons – such as these aliens – is between $35,000 and $40,000 per year per inmate. At the end of 2018, 19 percent of the prisoners in the Federal Bureau of Prisons — 30,848 — were aliens, costing the American taxpayer between one billion and 1.2 billion dollars a year just to house them.

The special report, “Non-U.S. Citizens in the Federal Criminal Justice System, 1998-2018,” goes to extraordinary lengths to avoid using the politically incorrect (but legally correct) term “aliens” in the report. Instead, illegal aliens are referred to as “undocumented non-U.S. citizens.”

Yet one more example of the tremendous annual cost of illegal immigration in the United States.

We the people should bring a class action lawsuit against the government as a whole.
