I promise you that if you watch this video of this town hall type event on Medicare for All, you will never favor our current system over Medicare for All again. You will be convinced. Of course this assumes you are a normal, rational, honest and objective person and not a captive of anti-Medicare brainwashing propaganda. That shouldn't be a difficult requirement to meet.

So far 16 views and no takers. Isn't it interesting how the right doesn't want to know the facts? They certainly have their preferences.

Speaking for "the right," I would love for people to know the facts. I'm not sure that you would be the source of any facts, but I'm definitely in favor of fact based discussions.

Then watch the video. It is excellent and features medical professionals from the USA, Norway, and Canada, plus insurance experts. In 1 hour and 47 minutes an abundance of detail is revealed. It is NOT PARTISAN.

I've already read the summary of Bernie's bill. What am I going to learn in one hour and 47 minutes that I didn't find there? Or to put it another way, just give me the single strongest argument from the video.

    Evidence.
    Specifically:...

The truth about Canadian healthcare from a Canadian doctor which is a solid reflection BTW of everything my Canadian friends tell me.

The truth about Norwegian healthcare from a Norwegian doctor, though it isn't even the best Scandinavian example.

The economic impact of Medicare for All.

The truth about Medicare from a man who ran Medicare under a previous Administration.

And probably the best argument far beyond all of these is that your doubt and resistance to Medicare for All will be transformed into support for the idea if you approach it honestly.

You don't get these things from reading a bill.

I have to say, I find myself fascinated by your answer. You seem to think that it includes both evidence and argument. It really has neither. Instead, you "argument" seems to boil down to Medicare for all being the best because it's the best.

You should have your reimbursement cut to bare bones too. Send the extra to Washington to help pay for everyone's care

And I am fascinated by your inability to track conversations. What makes you think I was presenting evidence and an argument? You asked "What am I going to learn in one hour and 47 minutes..."

    So I told you.

If you are genuinely interested in understanding Medicare for All and not just in fighting, you will watch the video. If you just want to argue and fight, I'll put you back on "ignore" where you've been for a few months.

    Heh!

It's not you, it's me. As a general rule I don't like to waste time watching videos that get posted because I'm almost invariably disappointed. They don't answer anything. If there are actual points that can be made, they can be posted much more succinctly than me spending almost two hours watching a video that is going to be a big nothingburger.

Sorry, I might not be the right audience for your Amway presentation.

Then you have screwed up, wasting your time, posting to me with your lazyman lack of curiosity and disinterest in the subject of your posting.
    Buh-bye.

Ok watched a little. Was the whole thing a collage of meaningless soundbites or was there something significant in there?

I didn't watch the entire video but don't need to because I already support universal health care for all. Of course it will cost more but I think that if the American people had to chose between:

    - fighting foreign wars, bankrolling criminal foreign regimes & possibly higher taxes

    OR

    - universal health care for everyone

....they would overwhelmingly support universal health care.

How could it cost more? Pardon but that's ridiculous. Watch the video. I already support universal healthcare too but I found the video to be excellent, persuasive, convincing, and it was informing regarding the details. And it will cut costs significantly. Certainly more can be done that would cut costs still more, but we can't expect government to suddenly become wise and sensible.

Other countries have lower costs thanks to aggressive price and salary controls along with tight restrictions on expensive procedures and in some cases more free market competition and less regulation. Simply placing more of the burden of paying for healthcare on taxpayers don't solve the fundamental problem.

I am signed up with Medicare and bluntly put, hate how they have treated my doctor. I count on this doctor and want him well treated. He denounced Obama care.

Are you posting as Bray Hill on PBS? Funny how he brings this very thing up today on the chat facility of PBS

Medicare hands to the Government much more than your debts.

I think all you really want is for others to pay your debts for you.

Medicare as I say on PBS has an enormous budget. If you killed off most of the rest, of course Medicare could pick up my tab, your tab and perhaps the rest of the nation. But this means Government becomes the insurance firm for this country.

We would scrap our entire military.

I've been on Medicare for 5 years and I have excellent Supplemental. I also have an exceptional GP in a university hospital system that ranks about 16th in the country. My doctor isn't concerned about Medicare but ya gotta have supplemental. The Medicare reimbursement rates are inadequate and it sounds like you don't have the supplemental.

With Medicare for All, the reimbursement rates would be brought up to acceptable levels. Watch the video.

I have been on it for a lot longer. I am 79 plus 5 months. Prior to Obama care, it was actually better. My GP is on the staff of a good local hospital. As to your claim ... I need a lot of analysis. I blame both insurance and Medicare for the way rates went way up. Now doctors are so overburdened by staff to keep up with paperwork, it is shameful.
