More MAYHEM in the unstable Trumpov Admin.
    Rexit?
Sources have it Tillerson very unhappy with the way PuTrump threw Sessions under the bus.
Not to mention PuTrump's strange PuCrush.

A chill emanating from the White House reaches State Department
John King, CNN Chief National Correspondent
Updated 2:38 AM ET, Mon July 24, 2017
    http://www.cnn.com/2017/07/23/politics/ip-forecast-white-house-shakeup-sec-of-state/index.html

Washington - Talk of a potential "Rexit" at Foggy Bottom, new tests for President Trump on immigration, tax reform and media relations and a big challenge for the nation's oldest civil rights organization -- it's all part of our Inside Politics Forecast.

    1) A chill across the executive branch -- and new rumblings from State Department
There was a decided chill across the executive branch as last week came to a close after a tumultuous series of events that rattled worker bees and caught the attention of Cabinet secretaries.

A large part of that dynamic was the result of the White House staff shakeup -- which saw President Trump overruling top advisers to hire Anthony Scaramucci as communications director, and the resignation of press secretary Sean Spicer.

Bigger, though, were the continuing conversations about The New York Times interview in which Trump sharply criticized his attorney general and longtime supporter -- Jeff Sessions -- saying it was "unfair to the President" that Sessions recused himself from any decisions related to the Russia election meddling investigation.

Among those who viewed the President's public rebuke of Sessions as unprofessional, according to several sources, is Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, the former Exxon-Mobil CEO.

Tillerson has a growing list of differences with the White House, including a new debate over Iran policy and personnel. His frustration is hardly a secret and it has spilled out publicly at times. But friends sense a change of late.

For weeks, conversations with Tillerson friends outside of Washington have left the impression that he, despite his frustrations, was determined to stay on the job at least through the end of the year. That would allow time to continue efforts to reorganize the State Department and would mean he could claim to have put in a year as America's top diplomat.

But two sources who spoke to CNN on condition of anonymity over the weekend said they would not be surprised if there was a "Rexit" from Foggy Bottom sooner that that.

Both of these sources are familiar with Tillerson conversations with friends outside Washington. Both said there was a noticeable increase in the secretary's frustration and his doubts that the tug-of-war with the White House would subside anytime soon. They also acknowledged it could have been venting after a tough week, a suggestion several DC-based sources made when asked if they saw evidence Tillerson was looking for an exit strategy.

Tillerson has turned out to be quite ok but Jared Kushner and Trump have made it extremely difficult for Tillerson to do his job. Kushner undermining Tillerson and cutting in on foreign policy, arranging meetings with foreign governments as if he himself is Secretary of State, not to mention his request for a backdoor to Russia. And Trump's tweets and erratic decisions creating friction with other nations left up to Tillerson to smooth over. The whole Russia investigation such a stink it's tainting everyone close to Trump, I'm surprised he hasn't abandoned ship already.

    • Insulting or personally attacking other posters (Rule 2)
Were you thinking the same about Tillerson when he got the Arctic reserves from Putin, <Rule 2/3>
Since when he started to be the good puppy?
How could you expect Trump wouldn't seek no balance while it's been his ass about to get fried between this global power struggle?
Just because Tillerson can make such U-turns that easily due to his company's fast changing political stance doesn't mean Trump can do that too because it was not Exxon sponsorship that brought Trump in power. His sponsors are more complex.

No I initially thought Tillerson was a bad choice especially since he won the "Russia Order... or Friendship award, due to his inexperience and ties to the oil industry.

He has been a rather weak Secretary of State but I believe Trump and Kushner's undermining and excluding him has a lot to do with that. Otherwise he seems to be liked well enough with whomever he meets and deals with. I admit to being disappointed when he flew off to Russia after Trump fired the 59 Tomahawks in Syria, we were all waiting with bated breath... and ..... nothing

Who the hell would want that job with the current chaos in the administration? In a cacophony of fools Tillerson may be seen as someone who is a little better than the rest. Not saying much I know, but there it is.

    Tillerson is a COMPLETE IDIOT.

That said, he is Light Year's ahead of the mentally-challenged denizens who make up the overwhelming majority of Trump's Administration.

The poor pathetic POS (Tillerson) even has a problem with eye contact.

I can't imagine how hard up Exxon could've been for executives to make that patheic, paranoid, POS the CEO.

    Rexit? The sooner the better.

Tillerson hasn't had much influence or personality.
He's dead wood, especially since Int'l affairs is under Jared's portfolio: "Secretary of Everything'.

But I think this says alot about Trump's dysfuncion.

John King is a hack and a moron, but after reading this, I think he has a future in suspense novels.

Thanks for the 1-line partisan Trolling without saying why John King is in any way wrong.
Next time though, to save space/make the board more readable, just say 'the OP' instead of quoting the whole article, none of which you were willing or able to specifically refute.
Perhaps you'd also like to correct/bash the similar Newsweek and 'The Hill' headlines I posted just above your empty bash post.

You have this habit of using forceful dialogue. Do you actually think you can bully posters in to not responding, or something? What on earth would give you that idea???

My point, that was clear to the other posters, is that this reads like a suspense novel, not like a news article. King is clearly over dramatizing the article.

My comments were only one sentence. Was that too much for you to make it through? That one sentence was just too much? Really?

They give that same award to visiting athletes and actors. It's not a big deal. They give it to everyone. How are you so upset about it, while also having NO IDEA what it means? Just sayin....

ie, a few moments ago in another thread:

Why are you so angry? Why are Democrats ALWAYS so angry?

I was just asking why you think your bullying dialogue would work. It won't work, obviously. But, I'm curious why you think it will work.

AOL is NOT a credible news outlet, therefore they can't rely on anonymous sources with any credibility. This isn't a difficult concept. Calling a spade a spade is not bullying. /shrug

You just repeated your empty charge withOUT justifying or proving it.
Just the usual ZERO content partisan bashing.
The OP CNN article also remains Untouched, and in fact, verified by Newsweek/The Hill.. which Jeannetova, like YOU, calls "Fake News."
We simply can't have debate with characters like you two around. Just clownery.

One thing has nothing to do with the other. Tillerson is the Sec'y of State, and can't be overruled by Trump, or bypassed by Trump,
if he is to have any credibility. The global 'power struggle' as you call it, is the responsibility of the Sec'y of State to manage, with the President's advice. That is the job, and if he is unable to do his job because of a stupid boss, then he will check out. Another capable person bites the dust. And just what the hell are you talking about? You are uninformed.

Seriously though, why are you mashing keys in this blind rage? What was said that made you so crazed and angry?

The "news article" reads like Snoopy's Dark and Stormy Night. It presents no new facts, and attempts to paint some sort of bizarre picture of the "mood" of an administration, as if it were a tangible thing. It's obviously of no journalistic merit. This is just fantasy and nonsense, that is not based in facts. Reporting on "feelings" is not factually reporting.

When are you starting this "debate"? All I see you doing is lashing out at other posters, and generally acting like a ****** bag.

Still NO on topic content, nor even specific passages that are "snoopys dark and stormy night"
Just your usual bashing with no Factual, or even specific passage style elucidation

I don't like the choice of Tillerson, but I do think he is sane, and he must be troubled as he sees the insanity going on around him.
Kushner as basically his equal?? THAT would stick in anybody's throat with the experience Tillerson has.
Serves him right for signing up with a reality show host.

You could not be more wrong. He works for the President AND for the American people. What I said was (pay attention) that if he
is shortstopped from doing his job, then he will quit. Catch my drift now?

So, you are attacking posters, and calling them names, and you wonder why they are talking about THAT, instead of the thread topic? Alternatively, you could just NOT attack people and derail the thread, if you are so committed to the topic.

No, you are wrong. The SoS works for the president, not the other way around. Your notion that the president should lock step with the SoS is EXACTLY backwards.

I'm a Trump supporter but I have to be honest that there is something about Kushner that I have not liked since day one. I really like Rex Tillerson . I don't know who is convincing Trump to go after Sessions but it is bad advice. Sessions was there when no one even thought Trump was serious. So far he has praised Chris Christy, Rudy Giuliani, Newt Gingrich, Sean Spicer, McMaster, Bannon, Flynn only to abandon them or make them irrelevant. I don't know how you can demand respect when you don't know how to give it. I find it very sad as he had a good agenda, but you need others to advance it, and he isn't finding any voices to help him.
