The claims are silly. What we have got is a conservative/reactionary government. It's going to be interesting.

Diuretic how have you come up with reactionary ? The fact they have only just got in and you have no proof that they are a reactionary government makes me believe you may of added that bit for fun.

I have to say that it astounds me that the Labor junkies have used this term to ONLY describe the Liberals. I would have to say that politics in general, regardless of left and right, is these days very reactionary. The media demand it.

A great government, a great day for Australia?

Can't wait to see us sliding back even more in an international context.

But hey, everyone deserves a fair go. Let Tony do what he promised, stopping the boat people, scrapping the carbon tax, and get all females back into their natural habitat (kitchen).
So many of his brain storms. Can't wait, what a great PM he will turn out to be.

And what a great future we have, with no visions coming from Tony. As if the LIBs ever had any real visions........

But I do agree that the ALP didn't deserve to win.

In my mind however also the LIBs don't dererve to rule. What a pity for our nation. We are in a terrible situation...

    Cheers

Got any evidence for such a wide sweeping claim....nope just your sour gapes

Yes the PEOPLE want the boats stopped, the carbon tax gone ( as we found out this week it was bassed on lies anyway...but please show us where the libs policy of " get all females back into their natural habitat (kitchen)" is...I nor any sane person that doesnt read leftist propaganda cant find it.

Gee those green sour gapes really whine a lot dont they?

Not full of stuff-ups. Every government makes mistakes, the important thing is where they make them. Some policy areas were a problem but that was down to Rudd. Gillard stepped in and fixed them up. Sure she made some errors herself but at least she calmed the process of governing. The big problem for the govt was Rudd and his white-anting. An impartial observer would be impressed with the policy outcomes. We'll see how the Abbott govt goes with policy.

I mean reactionary and not reactive. What I wish for the current government is stability and calm, Abbott has promised that and I hope he comes good with it. A Rudd-like fascination with all forms of media would be another disaster. Abbott's government will be reactionary, I assure you. I may even keep score

What would be good - a running thread to discuss the new government's policies. But I suppose it would be too partisan.

No, there are quite a few in front of Gillard for that prize.

    Sorry efjay,
you asked where Australia has fallen behind, and I forgot to answer.
On a recent Europe trip I hired several similar sized cars to our Falcons and Commodores, and none, I mean none, used as much fuel as our icons do.
The worst thing that can happen to any nation are people, who deny an inconvenient truth......

Welfare promotion isn`t responsible government. Killing off industry isn`t progress. It would be hard to imagine how the live cattle export industry could have been more mishandled, now the consequences are devastating to the industry, and the environment. Urban cowboys, who kid themselves that they posses superior knowledge in all things, need to get out into the world. The mentality that no impost put on other people can ever be too much, is selfishly simplistic.

Well again I say that the last few governments have been reactionary, so good chance this one will as well, so you may need to get a good pencil sharpener, cause I thinks you'll need it.

I disagree with those that say Abbott is not strong, I think he is. Question is.... Is he too black and white ? If so is that what we need right now ? They have all become slaves to the media, that wont change in my opinion.

I think the media will give the Abbott government a very easy ride. As for slaves to the media, yes, agreed, Rudd was obsessed by it, that needs to be tempered.

Well certain parts of the media anyway, for how long is anyones guess. Turmoil and rumour is fodder for the press, without it there would be nothing to talk about.
