That's their mistake and not fraud.

You know ... as a European I find this whole thing very absurd, because it's a homemade problem in the US, because ...
Individuals can try to vote, vote multiple times or vote instead of third parties without voting rights in the US. A choice of options are:

    - If voters do not need to identify themselves by a clear voter ID / ID card which is hard to fake like an US passort during the election, people may try to vote under a false name.
    - If there are no voter lists for individual polling stations, people can try to vote in several polling stations.
    - If absentee voting is possible, individuals may request and submit filled out eligibility documents for non-eligible voters (the mentally handicapped, those with dementia, persons who are not known to be convicted, persons willing to sell their electoral documents).

This problem has existed in the US for decades ... but why in the US, neither from the right nor from the left, is anyone willing to solve this problem successfully with meaningful measures?
In Europe, each of us has the following state and largely forgery-proof identity papers with photos and other things:
    - passport
    - Identity card
    - Driving license (if passed and passed exam).

Without a valid passport or identity card - both government documents - no one can vote!

I seriously don't think there is such a thing as "forgery-proof". If it can be made, it can be faked. However, I do understand what you're saying. There are many here who have been calling for the same measures you mentioned, and at the same time, many who see some of these measures as an attempt to keep people from voting. There is a pro and a con for every proposal.

One of the attempts during the last presidential election was to purge the voter roles of deceased and inactive voters. The biggest problem was that these efforts were not well thought out, and were instituted immediately before the election, often by people who really had no official status to do so. Voters showed up to vote, only to find that they were listed as ineligible to vote because someone had removed their names.

This is part of the issue with the current attempts to claim vote fraud. Many voter roles have names of deceased or of those who've moved to other parts of the country. Some in the media are claiming this as an example of widespread fraud when it's merely a case of needing some "house cleaning". There are also those who move to a new residence within the same voting district. The old addresses can sometimes still be listed on official rolls, causing confusion and claims of fraud.

Actual cases (those proven) of voter fraud are extremely rare. They tend to involve voting outside of one's district and voting by those ineligible because of felonies committed. Some states allow non-citizens to vote in local elections, and in some cases non-citizens have attempted to vote in the state and national elections.

Considering the different voting systems, and the size of the voting public, we do a fair job of keeping the elections legit.

I do? I was unaware. Perhaps it's a right brain not knowing what the left brain is doing. Your basic Bible metaphor. But then I'm just being charitable.

And what punishment are you planning for the person that allowed her to register after she presented her Green Card?

    I would fire them

But competence and good job performance is not required to be a government employee
