Pot kettle black. Look at the kind of post you agree with? Rules for radicals and haters. The most hateful intolerant people there are are democrats.

State Rep elections are VERY different from federal elections.

To have a party over a win in a state election in which almost nobody voted - pretty desperate, aren't you?

I worked a special election for the state legislature back home. 10% of voters for the precinct were literally high school seniors I dragged in and forced to register and vote as they were walking home from school.

Upsets are extremely historically common in "solid" territory, because the dominant party has the luxury of telling themselves we don't have to campaign, and their voters can blow it off because "my guys going to win anyway".

Likely voters, in regards to regular elections, are only 60ish% of registered voters, but routinely represent 75-80% of actual voters.

High propensity voters, however, make up about 5% of likely voters. These are people who always vote. When 5% of likely voters show up, it's not hard for outrage to turn an upset.

There's a reason politicians never keep their promises, and that's because angry people always vote.

What's funny these days is that when a Democrat wins and election it's considered news.

Not here on CT.. the only thing Republican we can elect is a governor. Well the last male Republican governor we had is now serving his second term in prison for hus second criminal act.

Ron Paul is totally right on this one. He reminds me of the Davy Crockett story below " Not Yours To Give". A true story and a great story. Short 6 min.s if attention span can handle it.

In the 1970's, the all of the TV networks used blue for Republicans and red for Democrats on their election maps. By 1990, they had all flipped to use red for Republicans and blue for Democrats.

IMHO, they did it just to stop any possible connection between the Democrats and communism because during the Cold War the Democrats were often accused of being soft on communism.

Democrats were accused of being soft on communism in the Cold War. It's a shame you don't remember that. Or were you even alive then?

Don't spout off about stuff you don't know.

That is not quite accurate. It started in 1984 with ABC, which called "red for Reagan" during his successful re-election night.
