playing loud music at 4am is stupid and rude, but not a death penalty offense, but before one plays their loud music at 4am, just remember, there is crazy people out there that might just kill ya for it

I wonder if there is more to this story, like did the argument escalate until Keegan felt threatened? Did Ellison become threatening, or physical? Will the "not guilty" plea be based on self defense?

I feel like there are important details which aren't included in this article, but then that's par for the course with much of today's media.

Adult or teen the guy should not have been murdered over loud music or even playing Rap Crap. Should Blacks muder WHite Southerners for playing country western music too loudly?

 

That is my point we have to assume until we get the complete truth that this was only over loud music which is unlikely.

Most of us who are from the suburbs get annoyed as all hell when we are in the city and have to hear extremist loud Rap Sciest being played over Audio Speakers on 4 wheels. Sure Inwished many times that I had a shoulder launched heat seeking missle to take out that noise.

 

This case like the muder over over a handicapped parking space does almost allways start out as a confrontation over something rather than an intent to set out and commit murder. Yet we need to think about who initiated or set up the conditions or who over reacted and that led to murder or that enabled the situation to get to murder.

Hell I can claim that loud Rap Crap is a threat to my life therefore I have a right to confront the Rap Crapper and in he runs his mouth at me I should have the right using the self defense doctrine to terminate him and his Rap Crap.

Basically I believe that the Constitution gives us the right to defend ourselves but not the right to create the conditions that lead to murder.

In any case, it is safe to say that had this confrontation taken place without any guns involved, there may be a broken nose or black eye, and some broken egos, but nobody would be dead. That's why the high gun density is such a problem. It escalates otherwise trivial disputes, often to the point of death..

 

Without a gun the guy calls the police and never goes outside the hotel.

That could get dicey. Let us take an example:

Over the past few years it has become apparent that there are some people on the left that have no problem physically assaulting people wearing MAGA hats.

A clever person would see that as a great way to set them up. Go out to a liberal area, carry concealed, wear a MAGA hat and wait for the attack. Just mind their own business, say nothing to anyone, doing nothing but walking around in public with one of price of clothing item being political in nature. As soon as the attack happens, scream “I fear for my life” and shoot to stop the threat.

Hook, line and sinker.

Since the person wearing the MAGA hat was attacked for no other reason than existing, being against their self defense would mean you are legitimizing criminal physical assault on a person over the clothes they are wearing.

 

People have strange reactions to strange things. But really, it's about being diplomatic and finding a diplomatic solution. What ended up in death/imprisonment should've been a peaceful resolution to turn the volume down.

 

A guy shoots an obnoxious person, is arrested, and will stand trial for it. Well, after all, this is a planet with approximately 7.8 BILLION humans on it. There are plenty of obnoxious people, and they come in all colors.

If I were to give one bit of advice -- when you are in the presence of obnoxious, disgusting, trashy people, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

But, if you do decide to shoot one of these crudballs instead (not recommended), you'd better have a top-notch lawyer and deep, deep 'pockets'....
