A Message To My Fellow Police Officers

My heart is broken today.

I do not possess the ability to adequately express the range of feelings that course through my mind. Not today. But I just wish to say this....

Stay strong. Continue to protect your communities. I know you will. Do not let our grief deter us from our duty to our fellow citizens.

And of those officers whose lives ended in Dallas and Baton Rouge and elsewhere, I wish to say this ...

Some will say they "lost" their lives. Some will say their lives were "taken". Some will say they "gave their lives" on that day in Dallas or today in Louisiana. They are common terms of our language. But the deeper truth is that they "gave their lives" long ago, freely, on that day they pinned on that badge. I wish to say that the decision to give their lives was theirs and theirs alone. It is the same decision we all made on that day.

Stay true, my brothers and sisters. We will come through this. Bless you all.

 

A message to all police officers: don't shoot people unless the try to kill you. That is bad for business.

 

A message for people who have no idea what they are talking about.

Don't judge that which you cannot possibly understand....that is bad for your perceived intellect.

 

I have no idea? How about a history of bad police getting away with committing crimes while they lock up black people for stupid minor (*)(*)(*)(*) like marijuana?

 

You'd probably running screaming to a cop to save you if you were in a dangerous situation.

 

Cops are there after the crime happens not before.

 

I back the police 100%.

I believe most Americans do.

The comment assumed you are not a police officer, in active military war zones, or in any other way employed in a field that involves people with guns who will kill you. It asks you to consider what it must be like to be asked to deal with individuals who may very well wish to shoot you. IF you allowed them the first shot you would likely leave a weeping family behind and regret your decision for the five seconds before dying. Cops are charged with stopping bad guys before they kill you at home....they deserve respect for this....not debasement.

There are priests who molest little boys....should we start killing every priest we see?

 

If that were true cops mortality rates would equal that of librarians now wouldn't it?

Unless of course as a modern progressive your insinuating murdering police officers is not a crime. Is that your arguement?

I sent this via e mail to Randy, my son in law who served many years as a policeman.

I also included the link to Seth's very well worded message.

It is too bad that there is this war on Cops. They do not deserve this.

 

Yes, that is what we want.

The problem today is that we don't always get that.

That doesn't justify violence against policemen, obviously.

But, there is no possibility of thinking that humans are perfect or that institutions of humans are above improvement.

 

Whites are also locked up for grass possession, are they not?

 

This has to be the post of the year thus far. Sad that 30 officers have already been killed in the line of duty in 2016 and we gave almost half a year to go. Thank you for this post and for your service.

Yes, we all know cops are like gods and the only ones who may judge themselves...... and of course they are far superior to the citizens who have the gall to attempt to criticize their actions. We should all just accept your abuses of power and accept that we are subservient to the cops and the corrupt government.

 

In all the craziness I hope our officers know most of America stands behind them and supports them.

In my little town there has been an outpouring of support for our officers since the Dallas killings. Hopefully this is happening around the country.

 

Absolutely. Especially when people like Akai Gurley are shot and killed. We all know Gurley brought it upon himself.

 

Yes and that guy shouldn't have moved his hands before getting four in chest at close range sitting in his car. With his girl and their daughter beside him.

I don't condone killing of any kind but this sort of stuff is bound to happen when people feel they get no justice. Good Cops need to out the bad cops. I mean isn't that what moderate Muslims are told to do by right wingers? Maybe good cops need to have parades about police brutality like the moderate Muslims are told to by right wingers. Oh wait right wingers are hypocrites when it comes to the police.

Why don't you guys pat yourselves on the back for this kind of behavior.......

 

I missed the part where it has been proven this was not a justified shooting by the officer. Can you show me where it was proven? I'm not saying it was or wasn't until you show me proof.

But let's just go on a cop shooting spree in the meantime.
If it's found it was a justified shooting, oh well, my bad. The cops had it coming to them anyway.
