A simple question; who owns your life?

    Total fail.

Gun ownership is not the only relevant factor.

I already explained how there is a casual relationship between gun ownership and suicide. You are unable to refute that.

"Ready availability of firearms is associated with an increased risk of suicide in the home. Owners of firearms should weigh their reasons for keeping a gun in the home against the possibility that it might someday be used in a suicide. (N Engl J Med 1992;327:467–72.)"

The so-called "casual relationship between firearms ownership and suicide" has never been proven as either viable, or even existing. Therefore there is nothing to refute.

Even if such a casual relation did indeed exist, the same logic would hold there is a casual relationship between being a male and engaging in sexual assault, due to males being the overwhelming percentage of those who commit rape. There would be a casual relationship between access to over-the-counter medications and drug overdoses. There would be a casual relationship between access to rope and suicides committed via hanging. Thee would be a casual relationship between ownership of kitchen knives and knife-related assaults.

The work of Arthur Kellermann yet again? How many more times is he and his work going to be cited, before it is realized that he is not saying what it is believed that he is saying?

Arthur Kellermann admits in his citation that those who are most likely to use a firearm for the purpose of ending their own existence, are the exact same group of individuals who are most likely to use a firearm for the purpose of killing others. Those who have criminal histories, who live alone, who do not own their own homes and instead rent property, who have substance addictions to alcoholic beverages and illicit narcotic substances, who engage in illegal activity, and who do not have a higher level of education.

In short, simple, uncomplicated, easy to understand terms, the majority of those who use firearms to end their own existence are members of the criminal element who do not legally own firearms, but rather possess firearms in an illegal manner and use them for such.

Life leads to death. Fortunately, procreation begets humankind's continuity. Unfortunately, this also leads to all the crimes, both great and small upon the face of the earth. Still, we try to get it right, by counsel, example, and investigative research.....to extinguish death and evil. So life is not the problem. It is a gift....a play, in the midst of which we are lost and found. So we must stay upon faith and hope and love, lest we are led to despair and bow the final curtain prematurely.

Probably along the same lines that society drives them to not want to live.

Never mind the fact that someone is mentally ill in no way generates a sound argument for the restriction on the rights of those who are not.

Suicide is a sin as severe as murder.

I believe Society has a duty to prevent self-harm. Society has a duty to care for people who are disabled.

About 85% of people in USA are Christian, Jewish, and Muslim. We all agree that Creator owns human's lives and suicide is a sin.

All hardware has nonviolent uses. Guns are weapons by definition.

From the religious perspective, all sins are equally severe, be they murder, or pilfering an extra box of paperclips from the office supply room at work.

The belief being presented on the part of yourself is factually incorrect, and holds no basis in law.

Except the so-called "study" does not actually say what is being claimed it says.

The obvious question of "so what?" must be asked with regard to the above. What ultimate, meaningful difference does such actually make?

If a length of rope is tied to a large hex nut and swung about in an offensive manner it automatically becomes a weapon, regardless of the fact the individual parts utilized in constructing it were intended for nonviolent purposes.

That's as nonsensical as saying that car salesmen are responsible for all auto related deaths.
