A Pennsylvania court struck down the state’s mail voting law Friday, saying the state Constitution requires voters cast ballots in person unless they meet specific requirements.

The court notably did not rule against the merits of mail voting and its expansion. It focused instead on how that expansion occurred, saying that change must take place through Constitutional amendment, not legislation.

I just thought, in lieu of my comments on this, that I'd post a link and quotes from the 2 PA Republican leaders WAY BACK in 2019, when this bipartisan bill was passed..

    SNIP
“The people of Pennsylvania have sent divided government to Harrisburg and, with that, this is what governing looks like,” said Senate Majority Leader Jake Corman. “We are thankful for the governor’s willingness to work with us to enact the most historic change in how we cast votes since the election code was enacted in 1937. Compromise has given Pennsylvanians a modernized election code that preserves the integrity of the ballot box and makes it easier for voters to choose the people who represent them.”

“This bill was not written to benefit one party or the other, or any one candidate or single election,” said House Majority Leader Representative Bryan Cutler. “It was developed over a multi-year period with input of people from different backgrounds and regions of Pennsylvania. It serves to preserve the integrity of every election and lift the voice of every voter in the commonwealth.”

My, how times have changed... from back when Tom Brady was in his 40's....

Any chance this decision stands in the Pa SC?? I don't think it will...

Allowing mail-in-voting inherently creates opportunity for fraud over in-person voting. That really isn't debatable.

Why such the push for a more fraudulent system?

Ask the 2 Republicans in Pa who spearheaded the effort??

Some bullshit about "modernizing the election code" and "lifting the voice of every voter"

    Yadda Yadda Yadda...

    I don't give a **** what they said.

I am asking you. Why do you advocate in the name of a more fraudulent system?

Because it's not...even you didn't claim that just 2 posts ago...

The tradeoff to catch the handful of bozos who try to game the system (or simply make a mistake) vs getting many more hundreds of thousands to participate in the system isn't even a remotely close call... It wasn't for Pa 3.5 years ago anyway...

You should tell that to the Swiss. I’m sure they would be glad to be enlightened. As it stand, every citizen receives a voting package in the mail three or four times each year.
Seriously, if they manage to do it, why can’t America?

    Well, Louis DeJoy for one....

We can't do it because instead of one standard voting system, we have 50 different voting systems.... which is the biggest problem with our elections, bar none...

Of course it is. LOL. How can you claim, that verifying balloting is NOT less secure between a person voting in person, verse a person voting by mail.

Let's use our brain here a little. Of course the mail in voting would be less secure.

You don't know if its dozens. You don't know if thousands more would participate. You're just making things up.

If we want more honest elections...
    • ONLY requested Mail In Voting
    • No Drop Boxes
    • No Vote Harvesting

    Have a nice day.

You have no proof this method is subject for election tampering. All you have are accusations from a petulant child named Trump.

I said handful, and that seems to be the prosecution number in most states.

I would have thought the participation numbers would have spoken for themselves in 2020, but....

I have said this a million times, and it is conveniently ignored. If you remove all mechanism to find the fraud, its disingenuous to claim there is no fraud. That's like saying nobody is breaking traffic laws when you remove all the police.

It's a ridiculously naive statement to make.

who should NOT be allowed to vote??

    IMHO

every person that is a US citizen, and has been issued a social security number, does not have a criminal record and is over 18 should be allowed to vote..

it would be very simple to avoid fraud by doing the below

every vote is connected to a social security number .., one vote, one social security number

who or what the votes supports is irrelevant....

every dime I have earned in my lifetime has been accounted for because of the social security number

seems it would not be difficult to record who votes once a year

the government has been counting everyone's money for a lifetime

True there are different systems - but the fact that other countries do it means that it CAN be done.

Well other countries / states have solved the problem. Are Americans not smart enough to figure it out?

Sure... Anything can be done, but it takes foresight, balls, and public support, and we just don't have enough of any of that in this country....

Instead, we have people that prefer to talk about black women infesting our court system, falsely stolen elections, and Hunter Biden causing WW3

My source is reality as always. Why do you feel such a need to poo poo anything you do not agree with? Perhaps you know I am correct and you are trying to convince yourself of lies told to you.
