There is plenty of anecdotal evidence for elves. Objective evidence...not so much, but people are unable to disprove the existence of elves. In Iceland elves are quite popular. They call them Huldufólk or hidden people. They are supernatural beings that live in nature. They look and behave similarly to humans, but live in a parallel world. They can make themselves visible at will.

May I make the assumption that agnostics are agnostic on the existence of elves?

Can we be atheistic on elves, since they exist only in the deranged imagination of the weak-minded?

    Google is your friend!

Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, Trolls, Dragons, Wights, Giants, Wraiths, and Goblins are all derived from Northern European mythology and legend. Some aspects of Dwarvish culture and language are borrowed from the lives of Jews in medieval Europe. Not permitted to own land, many became craftsmen.

he most famous elf was Wayland the Smith (Völund in Old Norse, Wēland in Anglo-Saxon, Wieland in German) whose story must have circulated in various versions across the whole Germanic space. The figure is present in Old English as early as the 8th century CE, probably spreading in Scandinavia a century later.Mar 8, 2021

Seems to me these are confirmed myths, nothing agnostic about it.

Now if you want to present evidence to the contrary, great, I may have to change my view, until then 'elves are historically confirmed myths'.

Can you make a good case they are real? Agnostic used in the sense you just proposed would have to be applied to the political venue since elves AFAIK have nothing to do with any 'religion'.

    What Does Agnosticism Mean?

In the religious sense of the word, agnosticism means neither believing in nor disbelieving the existence of God.

But that’s only one of the ways the term agnosticism is used. In the general, non-religious sense, agnosticism means being undecided or uncommitted to a particular side of a debate or disagreement.

People who are politically agnostic don’t side with one political party or candidate.

Thank you Kokopyandpaste but you didn't prove they do not exist.
A myth is a traditional story, especially one concerning the early history of a people or explaining some natural or social phenomenon, and typically involving supernatural beings or events. Couldn't we call gods myths?

I legit can't tell how to say they don't exist unless I also say that gods don't exist, using the same logic. The OP has a point.

Thats how you make a citation, you paste it, whats your problem?
Im sure there is a point you could.
Eveything I seen said myth, agnostic looks at 2 conditions simultaneously and you have not provided that, so I Have no reason to consider any other conclusion until confronted with a counter point. Got one?
Id like to see that, especially since there are a couple people making a nice business out of it.

How can you prove invisible men don’t exist? The only thing you can possibly do is prove their existence. Which is impossible in my opinion because they do not exist.

So you're an "atheist" when it comes to elves because you can't prove their existence..

As always it depends on how you define your terms. What do you mean by "agnostic" for the purpose of the OP. Elves could exist, as could ghosts and gods. But I am not aware of any evidence of good reason to to believe that they do exist. I also think if they do exist, and have some effect on our reality, then it should be possible to prove they exist, with the burden being on the claimant.

There are two technical questions about elves:

    a) Are elves and fairies the same, or is there a difference?
    b) Do elves walk or fly barefoot like angels, or do they wear shoes?

So, an "agnostic" is someone who believes any character man can imagine, like unicorns or Spiderman, could exist no matter the lack of evidence of its existence or how many laws of nature it breaks.

I refuse to acknowledge the question. Same as I do with God.

The person asking the question is trying to force an answer, then label the person for simply providing the answer.

If I never thought about the existence of elves, your question doesn't change that.

I found sufficient evidence to satisfy me that elves are a myth, and I am an agnostic.

Its like the age old neoatheist stupidity that claims theists are atheist to all Gods but their chosen God.

Hardly, agnostics believe what can be sufficiently shown to factual, and agnostics reject the atheist mantra because its 'faith' based.
Never investigated them, seems to me unicorns did exist and are now extinct.
Nope neoatheists do that, they irrationally believe on 'faith' that there is no God without a full investigation of the truth of the matter.
    WTF?

:) I was not aware of the whole elves thing until I watched the Eurovision movie. I was intrigue by all the elf talk and googled it. I didn't realize so many people believed in elves. In Iceland they often re-route building projects to build roads around the elves etc... I saw polls where over half the Iceland population believes in elves.

When I visit Iceland I am going to have to do some of the elf tourist things. ;)

I understand the point of this thread and it was quite fun. However why is it that atheists attack the believers and the believers never set out to attack atheists? Atheism is also a belief that can’t be proven, if you don’t believe in creationism you must believe in the Big Bang that is equally a belief
