So far over 30 views and no Christians here know what gospel Jesus preached!! Or maybe all those 30 plus people are not Christians.

A grand presumption on your part. You really believe that you KNOW what other Christians know and or don't know? Perhaps they simply don't desire to go on a fishing expedition. If you are a Christian, then perhaps you might want to share your views on the subject by telling us where the expedition is headed and what type of catch we, as other Christians, can anticipate.

If what you say is true then why are so many Christians here so willing to get into a never ending debate with atheist about God's existence, but are not willing to say if they know or don’t know what gospel Jesus preached that is asked by a fellow Christian?

I know that most don’t know what gospel Jesus preached, because if they did they would have been preaching it.

I cannot speak for the other Christians and their reasons for doing anything. As for me,,, I enjoy, as much as some non-theists do, the freedom to throw all kinds of crap in the game, especially with me KNOWING that they cannot PROVE anything. The cannot even prove that I am who I say I am.

Did you ever notice in the Bible that Jesus spoke mostly to those that were willing to listen to what He had to say? Well, there are not that many people on this forum who are willing to listen or even talk about the teachings of Jesus, because of the number of rabble-rousers that are always ridiculing what is being said. But then there are some who, like me, are not concerned with the sayings of those that don't know what they are talking about. Call me this or call me that, but you cannot prove any of those things because you don't even KNOW who I am.

Yes, and I have often wondered if Christians realize this and which is why I strive to avoided the vast majority of what is discussed. My focus on board like this is the message that Jesus preached and what He told us to preach as well. If one is not telling people the same message that Jesus told us to tell others, then one is not being obedient to Jesus. And Jesus said, why call Him Lord and not do what He say?

Well yes, I would have to say that I do know what Jesus preached throughout his life. And thank you for asking. Whether or not that makes me a Christian just by knowing that is a matter for a different discussion. But thank you for taking the time to ask.

If you're starting a thread to draw out people then I suggest that this is not necessarily the best tactic as I've found that people love to ridicule a given position rather than give their own position. But best of luck anyway

For the most part I was referring to unbelievers not necessarily Christians, but it could if he or she is very hostile and offensive. But I am willing to believe that Christians here are willing to engage in a civil discussion and is not insecure and is willing to learn or say they don’t know. You see, as I said before, I already know that the vast majority of Christians have no idea what gospel Jesus preached is.

But so far it's just us and we have not even begun to discuss what gospel Jesus preached.

And to which I would add, that I am not about to take the pearls that have been given me and cast them before the swine to trodden into the muck and mire of humanistic lust. Now, there are discussion boards (invite only) that will hold such discussions.

Well, it would seem that no one this far is interested in discussing what the gospel (pearl) is.

"no one" is an absolute and an absolute that would of course include yourself.

Well, it should be obvious that I was not including myslef. But it will give me something to talk about with some of my fellow Church members whenever the topic of the gospel comes up. Christians that love to argue with atheist over and over and over again about God's existence but are not willing to discuss the topic with another Christian what the gospel Jesus preached is.

As I said before. Not on this open forum where ridicule far outweighs any support from other Christians. At the same time, I find it rather strange that you are not presenting any information to open the discussion. That in itself sends up a 'red flag' as a cautionary warning to any discerning spirit.

For some reason I did not see your response but thinks for responding. Knowing what gospel Jesus preached is not enough though. Jesus expects us to preach it as well.....He said go and preach the gospel to everyone. If one claim Jesus is their Lord and master but does not obey Him, then their claim that He is their Lord are just words.

My intention is only to help to inform and enlighten. But what gospel do you believe Jesus preached for thee and a half years?

    1. There is one God and He is not found in a church.
    2. Don’t judge others, focus on your own path.
    3. Love and tolerate everyone. Especially those you might be tempted to look down upon or call your enemies.
    4. Don’t go around hurting or murdering each other. Really, it’s not very nice and God doesn’t like it.

I noticed that you claim that one has to preach Jesus' word to claim him as their Lord and Master. So, for the sake of this thread, can I assume you do not claim him, as you are not preaching his word?

Firstly, you're asking for quite a bit, you're asking for someone to come out and give you their belief on Christianity, while every post you give tags most Christians as incorrect. This leads me to believe that you're simply here to create an argument where you can lord your knowledge of the Bible and/or biblical texts over those who may not know as much as you. This may not be the case but you're coming across that way.

Its like playing poker and asking the other guy to show you his hand just because you said so. Unless you're all in, its a stupid move.

If you want to have a realistic discussion on this I'm fine with that, just give your view on what Jesus talked about, If not why the long thread?

All that is true, Jesus did say most of things but it is not the gospel that Jesus went about Jerusalem and preached for three and a half years.

    Why would you assume that?

I was not asking Christians their views on Christianity. I ask if they know what gospel did Jesus preached.

Because I have been on many forums and this one for a while and I have yet to come across one Christian that knows what gospel Jesus preached and is doing it themselves.......they spend far more time arguing with atheist trying to convince them that God exist......Jesus never went about arguing with people to believe in Him and He never command us to do the same. On the contrary, He told His disciples that they should shake the dust off their sandals of the City if they were not receptive of what they had to say.

My op was not titled; Christians let me tell you what the gospel that Jesus preached is, but the other way around. I will tell you but I am interested in what do you believe it is. I could easily tell you what it is and if you don't know what it is, just as easy say if you are a dishonest person (and there dishonest "Christians" on this board) oh, that's what I was going to say or believe too.

This meditation done with the Rosary briefly expresses the essential elements of Christ's Proclamation of the Kingdom:

A reading of the Magnificat, the Sermon on the Mount and Acts (showing how the early followers interpreted what Jesus said) will mostly cover it. The Constantine-Christians only required that he should be born and die in a properly theological context, because an executed traitor was bad news for their new patron. If you want a quick answer for the real thing, it is about socialism.

And you, like any non-theist, would use whatever a Christian said, as a launching platform to ridicule and demean that Christian.

Each time you post, it becomes more clear that all you are doing is setting up a baited thread... baited for the purpose of self aggrandizement. So go worship yourself and have a nice day.

Okay so obviously you're trying to be clever or whatever. Fine. Instead of playing the games with a nebulous question, why don't you just reveal your supersecret, oh-so-cool tidbit about the Good News to which you're referring and have a discussion about it?

I think the point he is trying to make is he wants al the christians in the world to preach endlessly until they annoy everyone who doesnt care to death. Even jesus knew to preach to an audience who would listen when a man walked past him I don't think he chased him down and screamed in his face. The perspective here is interesting to say the least, one christian; attacking and demeaning other christians for not being christian enough. Interesting.
