That you can go through life without a firearm and be just fine. In fact, most people in the world do exactly that, contrary to the implication in the OP.
Hahahahaha...it’s not relevant that hundreds of millions of people go their entire life without ever needing a gun THUS refuting the claim that “we can't live without guns”? Um yeah...sure thing.
No he isn’t saying no individuals need to do such. Why do you feel the need to put wrong words in his mouth? That is intellectually dishonest.
Yes. Most people, especially the people from North Korea. They hate guns. And don't need them. Whaddaya know. Yep. Mexico don't have guns. The Cartels are the good rulers there. I heard Juarez was such a peaceful place. You should visit some time soon!
Ha ha yeah, there are no guns in Mexico. There are several studies that indicate that the brain of a depressed person will attempt to counter that depression by activating a section of the brain that produces extreme worry. I suspect that the single digit percent of the US population that carries on a daily basis is more likely suffering that phenomenon, or something like it, rather than an allegiance to the 2nd Amendment.
Sure now. Produce such a study, one that connects the line to carrying a gun. Old joke... A cop pulls over an old lady for speeding on a Texas highway. He asks for her driver’s license and registration. When she opens her wallet, he notices a conceal-carry permit. He asks, “Ma’am, do you have a weapon in your possession at this time?” She responds that she has a .38 Special in her purse. And a .45 in her glove box. And a 9mm Glock in the center console. And a shotgun in the trunk. “Jesus, lady,” says the cop. “What are you so afraid of?” The old lady looks him in the eye and says, “Not a f****g thing.”
Your statement is backed by severe mental instability. That is coming from a Dr. in behavioural therapy. Tell that to the thousands raped and killed German and Swedish girls. Last week, an African stabbed 10 people in Paris. And a week before, an Arab stabbed 4 tourists in the Netherlands. I guess all these people were not worried, and of course not depressed. And now they're dead. But anyways good crazy point, Sherlock.
I was only talking about the US. Not sure why you're going on about other countries. But, if you want to expand it to the entire world then there are hundreds of BILLIONS of people who live their entire life without ever needing a gun. Whaddaya know!!!
Stop presenting vague statements that are apparently easy to misinterpret, and instead specify precisely what is meant on the part of yourself.
Try reading what is ACTUALLY posted rather than what you THINK is being posted. The statement below couldn't be more precise. What is so confusing to you about the statement below? "Hundreds of millions of people go their entire lives never needing a gun proving people CAN actually live without them."
The context behind the statement that warrants it being presented for consideration in the first place. Why would it be necessary to point out that "hundreds of millions of people" simply have not needed to use a firearm for their own defense, unless the argument actually being presented was that the need for armed self defense is so statistically rare and minute, that it is not worth consideration as being a possibility?
For the SECOND time... The argument was put forth that "we can't live without guns". I just merely pointed out that hundreds of millions of people live their entire lives without ever needing a gun. Proving that people can, in fact, live without guns. Nothing more nothing less. It's not my fault your imagination gets the best of you and you read things that aren't being said. Nowhere did I say people shouldn't carry. In fact, one of my posts in this very thread is in support of people who choose to carry if that makes them feel safe going out in public. Funny how you seemed to have missed THAT post, eh???
Because there are those who indeed cannot. It is apparent that what was presented on the part of yourself, is not actually understood on the part of yourself. By presenting the "hundred of millions" argument in response, what is essentially being stated on the part of those that present the argument, is telling others that they are apparently living their lives wrong and need to change what they are doing and how they are living so that they do not need firearms for their own defense. It is nothing more than an out of hand dismissal of the real world experiences of those who live different walks of life, and telling them that their decisions in life are wrong because they do not have the same good fortune as yourself and others who have apparently never encountered threats to their well being. This is in addition to telling them that they are statistical outliers that are too minute in number to count as being important, and are fit to be dismissed as too much of an unlikelihood to even count. Such is ultimately what the argument presented on the part of yourself boils down to.
Pull out my 9mm and command him to stop and identify himself, when an order is not followed open fire to wound.
Whose statements are backed by severe mental instability? "OMG, you gotta carry or you're dead!" "Oh worries me, the world is sooooo dangerous!!!!" "Get a gun, the Martians are coming!!!!!!"
The weak arguments of worrywart gun toters make the connection for us. Thank you gun toters for being so transparent.
Stop putting words in my mouth. Lucky for you I'm not a ninny who runs to the moderator to report people. I made it abundantly clear that I support people who carry (post #47) so again, please stop putting incorrect words in my mouth. It's intellectually dishonest.
While yet still choosing to post that "hundreds of millions" of people do not need a firearm to protect themselves, thus suggesting there is something wrong with those that do. Otherwise there would have been no need to introduce numbers to suggest that legal firearms ownership is a statistically minute outlier on the fringe of possibilities for consideration.
Nope...wrong. What part of the emboldened portion in the post below do you not get? For the THIRD time now...the reason for mentioning that hundreds of millions CAN live without a gun is because of the blanket statement made by Bulgarica that "we can't live without guns". Don't make blanket statements and I won't have to set your a$$ straight.
Look gun toters, don't tell those of us who don't carry, which is about 95% of Americans, we need to. We'll make that decision, and you make yours. Further, don't tell those of us who consider gun control ideas that we're anti-American. That's just BS.
I wouldn't be walking in a dark empty alley by myself. That would be stupid. But....should I faced this situation, I would roundhouse kick the both of them. Usually, knife wielding fools are useless, and pretend to be real "men."
Weak. Learn some self defense techniques. A gun isn't always the solution. Why are you packing going to a nightclub? Most if not all won't allow it.
I need to ask one question to formulate my answer: What's the season/weather? This will determine if I have the 40, 45 or 10mm. Thank you
