And calls out a coward for his actions. More troops to Iraq, more to Syria, and more to Somalia, not him, not his sons, just the children of others:

We need more of this, not more capitulation to the fool:

    http://samuel-warde.com/2017/03/mon...l&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer

"Speaking at a Tuesday reception for U.S. senators and their spouses, Trump stated that he had just concluded a “long call” with Defense Secretary James Mattis.

“We just had a call — long call from General Mattis. And, John, I know, is very happy to hear that, but he knows better than anybody, we’re doing very well in Iraq. Our soldiers are fighting and fighting like never before, and the results are very, very good. So I just wanted to let everyone know.”

Williams, who served in both the Marines and the Navy, becoming the first African American enlisted Marine to complete and graduate both the Naval Academy Prep School and Annapolis, took offense, writing:

'I heard the President’s remark that troops in Iraq are “fighting like never before” – yet another example of careless words from he whose words can move markets and move armies.

This President has put a relatively small number of troops on the ground in Iraq – in stating these troops are “fighting like never before” he necessarily implies that the troops previously in Iraq over the past decade plus somehow weren’t fighting hard, or worse that they were somehow derelict – so I would say:

“Mr. President, you signed up to be the Commander in Chief, HAVE YOU NO DECENCY SIR. Thousands of troops paid the ultimate price on Iraq while you were on the NY social circuit and hosting a reality TV show. Many more thousands came back badly wounded, more still came back with invisible injuries they may well bear for life. Their sacrifice, their blood, sweat and tears in battle, should not be denigrated by a television star, now President whose only military experience was dodging the draft.” '

There have been no wars started in accordance with constitution provision since 1941.

Our illustrious congresscritters simply offered up the sophistry of the AUMF, and Cheney & Bush took the country to war under fraud, the Global War On Terror.

Every occupant of the White House since then has embraced the GWOT. Trump is merely following in the path of Bush and Obama.

He campaigned on cleaning up the foreign policy mess left by Obama. It has been stated that the arms of our soldiers were tied under Obama, Trump spoke of relieving these obstacles; perhaps, that is what he is referring to in "fighting like never before". Also, there is not much that I find sincere in Trump, but he has always came across as extremely appreciative of our armed forces and law enforcement. He has never seemed insincere when discussing our military. The military greatly disapproved of Obama, and I feel that Trump's stated direction is reversing this coarse through going with the subject matter experts opinion as opposed to political image, improving our image of strength as opposed to capitulation, and ensuring our soldiers have what they need to succeed. After the last 8 years, I am willing to give him some leeway in these endeavors, but I want a more noninterventionist approach to being the world police once we've mopped up our spills.

I am particularly fond of "I know more about ISIS than the generals, believe me."
"I will defeat ISIS very quickly".
"Nobody respects veterans more than I do". - But when he said he was donating money - HE DIDN'T - only when the media (and why he hates the media for repeating his promises) - called him on it did he pay up.

What the **** are you talking about, guy?

We have a 100% volunteer military. If someone doesn't want to join, that's fine. I don't want them in. Why are you dragging him or his kids into this? Trump is following Obama's ME timeline for Troop/Strength development.

These missions have been planned well before Trump was sworn in.

Do you know how long it takes to carry out battalion+ Op order SAs? A year!

That “fighting like never before” line rubbed me the wrong way, too.

Between this and the now declassified reports that our troops brigades have taken routine tours over and over, I think I have an understanding on why the ME wars have taken as long as it did.

Why a year? It should be done within a few weeks to a couple of months IMO. Situations "on the ground" change almost as fast as political situations domestically inside a country.

We do have a volunteer military, NOTABLY bereft of the vast amount of sons and daughters of our public servants, they seem to be not signing up for some reason.

I wonder what that reason is?

I will say this; the Senators and Congressmen, presidents, mayors, and governors, who's kids are not sent to die on foreign shores, should not be trusted to make a judgment call on when to wage war.

You want an honest war? Send their ****ing kids. We will see how fast this global intervention suddenly ends and we mysteriously would value diplomacy.

How is sending rich kids an "honest war". Why would they want to enlist, or go through OCS, if they are going to graduate college with some kickass job? Why are you so concerned with them? I love my battle buddies and wouldn't have it any other way.

I can read quite well, it is you who cannot grasp the meaning of words. You insinuated that Obama was a coward like Bill Clinton, or a liar like Hillary Clinton. Trump used a false deferment (bone spurs that miraculously disappeared when he want to play sports in college) to avoid service. Yet somehow you think Trump was justified in doing so.

My question simply put was when did Obama act as any of these cretins?

I find it amazing that anyone, especially those who claim to dislike Trump, still take anything he says seriously. Are we really that naive?

We are talking about a coward sending others off to die while he, and his sons, profit from the action.

Wasn't that way when cowards like Clinton, Cheney, Gingrich, Romney, Trump, etc., used the deferment program to avoid service.

Do you have a source foe that, or are you just using more excuses?

24 hours, or less, if one remembers the claims made about Benghazi. Anyway, including the movement of troops, and equipment, less then 6 months. And where did it say a full battalion was used?

Real men, real troops, are being used. Matters not what a liar Trump is.

Trump should be dumped in the middle of Iraq in a war zone. He's clueless about his own cluelessness...

Again your reading comprehension fails you. I insinuated no such thing about Obama. The insinuation is a wet dream in your mind. Just as you claimed that I said Obama used a deferment and got your ass handed to you.
In any case the OP is a huge fail. I don't recall President Trump sending troops anywhere.

Clearly we have a civilian with zero experience in anything military related. Thus, you're the coward.

Please General Awesome, explain to us how you're going to coordinate a Battalion+, even divisional deployment. You should find your nearest Unit Movement Officer and ask them how long that takes.

Next, take that amount of time and subtract the months Trump has been in office. Then you're left with the remaining months of Obama's presidency.

So you're calling Obama the coward.

LOL battalion moves in 24 hours? What is this, middle school?

I'm concerned that our presidents and our senators and congressmen send our kids to die in these pathetic little dick measuring contests of theirs way too easily, and if they had their own flesh and blood fighting in the trenches, then they would be far less inclined to use military force.

Hence why it does keep them honest.

Don't get your panties all in a wad----

Fighting LIKE never before means they now have better leadership at the top who now more focused on killing the enemy than nation building.

I served in the US Army for several years---but I've been most offended by goofwads like Obama and Ash Carter making the military more an instrument for social change, than an elite fighting force.

Oh no, they're sending them to die, usually for useless causes that don't have any tangible impact here at home.

Not one of these crony crooks in office has sent their kids to die. They just send the plebes.

If someone DOESN'T want to die in combat, then they are a MORON for signing up to do so.
