obviously if true they would support a strong central govt rather than the perfect exact opposite. Conservatism is based on individual liberty. Do you understand now that you got it backwards? OMG!!!

Currently????, that's 100% nuts of course given that American Revolution was about those awlful big govt liberals and Republicans since Jefferson have stood for exactly that ie opposition to big govt liberals or socialists. Do you understand?

Liberals do not fart, they just hold it in and it comes out later as drama.

dear, if they are Adolf loving then they love big govt and cant be on the right, only on the left. You have learned this lesson 19 times now. Must we go for 20? sadly, its always a choice: are liberals just slow or just mental.

I'd love it if that were the case. As you can see from looking around PF, however, you are completely wrong. You are trying to equate the "right" with libertarianism, whereas all of the right wingers around here have beef with libertarianism (I know, I'm a libertarian), and they are more than okay with big government intervention in things like trade (hello tariffs), immigration, the drug war, military spending, "white genocide", eminent domain ,free speech and more. All of the Trump-love is proof positive that the right has largely abandoned its attempts to appeal to libertarian-leaning politics. Take a gander at some photos of the "Unite the Right" rally and try saying what you just said again with a straight face.

Nice strawman of conservatives you make there, but I don't find it to be true at all. I guess it's easier for you to demonize us if you have a low opinion of us. Feel free to do so, as you will always be underestimating us using those assumptions.

I agree, it's a total bullshit diagnosis, no matter the party. I disagreed when their nutcases were saying that conservatives are mentally ill, I similarly disagree when our nutcase say that liberals are mentally ill.

Hm, it is almost as if mental health diagnoses are, I dunno, something that applies to individuals and that belongs as part of a clinical diagnosis between a psychiatrist and their patient.

This is all of the mistakes Dawkins made in The God Delusion all over again.

William Buckley Jr and Rush Limbaugh sometimes described themselves as libertarian but mostly as conservatives. Libertarians are very very against govt while conservatives are very against govt. If we had an intelligent democracy the political center would be between conservatives and libertarians. Now it between conservative/libertarians and liberals or between smart and dumb respectively. Makes sense?

So you realize there are plenty of things that modern conservatives are big-government on. Sorry, but there are indeed big-government extremists on the right.

wrong of course Republicans have always been for free trade and capitalism while liberals have been for the improvements that they believed magical govt could bring to free trade and capitalism. Makes sense to you now?

No, it doesn't make any sense at all. At least not since Trump took control of the party. I've had way, way more Republicans around her go against me on free trade and capitalism than I've had Democrats do the same, especially over the past few yers. Nowadays Republicans love protectionism. It is one of the few consistent things about Trump's politics.

uh, tax cuts don't cut government. It only slashes revenues and causes deficits and debt to rise. Republicans LOVE them some big government. They ALWAYS grow it when in power.

And they are being much more small-government about it than the right-wingers who call for further restricting immigration, even cutting it off entirely, grabbing private land to build a wall, cutting out entire religious groups and nations from immigration, cutting H1Bs, ending entrepreneur visas, etc. Make sense?

Trump= massive tax cuts to massively cut govt and far more coming if there is enough support. The Republican president would be very libertarian if there was support for it. Do you understand?

I've given several. Trump himself is the biggest example. You claim that Republicans are for free trade and capitalism . . . while Trump supports government intervention to "correct" trade deficits and other protectionist measures. Also, his immigration policy is extremely big-government.
