The Ukrainian declared no evidence of wrong doings by the Bidens. Why dig dirt just before the election??

If he's innocent he should welcome the investigation.

You mean a former federal prosecutor with a vast network and experience in taking on mafia levels of corruption?

    I wonder.

Not as sad as when the best argument you have is "sad".

That would give a sitting president an unfair advantage over their political rivals. Trump claims this is not political but only Trump supporters believe that. Trump is the little boy who cries wolf over and over. Because of that few outside the Trump camp will believe that this is not politically motivated. For the sake of appearance no president should be involved in investigating a political rival. That should be left to the DOJ.

    Trump cries wolf?

Democrats have been fantasizing about impeaching him and/or killing him since he was elected.

It could only affect the election if Biden is guilty.

Because the Democrats believe that Barr is biased. As an independent I currently do not share the Democrats view of the AG.

He does not work for the government. Giuliani is nothing more than Trump's little pet.

I agree, yet that does nothing to change my position. I am not a Democrat by the way. Not saying you thought that, but just in case you were. If Trump is investigated it is a which hunt. If Clinton or the Biden’s are then it is not. That is hypocrisy. I reject the partisans on the right and left.

If I were a Trump supporter or a Republican that is how I would spin it. As to how Hunter Biden got his position earning millions of dollars by merit... I do not know nor am I willing to fill in the gaps of my knowledge with my bias as you obviously are. In politics, we tend to fill in the gaps of our knowledge with our biased predetermination. Upon knowing this unfortunate aspect of human nature I mitigate it by withholding judgment. I believe in innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. I reject the court of public opinion as it is a biased court.

If Trump starts luring people overseas for FISA stings, hires Fusion GPS, funds it with his own money, and uses multiple foreign countries, the FBI, the DOJ and our intelligence agencies to fabricate dirt when the Democrat candidate is announced, THEN we'll have some level of parity.

I agree yet see that the Republicans are no better. Tribalism makes each side oblivious to the smell of their own stink. Both tend to be guilty of that which they accuse the other of. It sickens me.

    I'm not a Republican.

No disrespect, but it's not just bias that forms opinions: it's also knowledge. Like your belief that the DOJ was part of the judicial branch.

Yet my belief was corrected by you and I freely admitted my error, thanked you for pointing it out, and corrected the error in post #6. If the left and right could admit and then correct their errors America would be a better place.

As for bias, we are all biased yet see our bias as objectivity as bias is in the moment of disagreement is indistinguishable from objectivity. It is easy to see others bias, but near impossible to in the moment see our own.

I was under no illusion that we would agree, but none the less I appreciate your perspective.

    What Biden thinks is irrelevant.

Trump is using our dollars and our national security to coerce a foreign government to produce dirt on a US politician running against him.

That makes us a banana republic.

US presidents are expected to refrain from make election related PHONE CALLS from the oval office.

    Good question.

I can't find any Republican of equivalent responsibililty who lives up to that responsibility.

Trump committed several serious and well documented crimes.

Yet we see Rpublicans working hard to make that a STANDARD of operation in our government.

What is the path to recovery from that? How can we move to NOT be a banana repoublic?

I do not see the pointing out of bad behavior of those we dislike as justification for the bad behavior of those we support. As for parity, it is predictable that the right will say that the left is guilty of the greater crimes just as it is predictable that the left will say that the right is guilty of the greater crimes. In this race to the bottom 2nd place is nothing to brag about.

I know of no objective way to make such a determination and again say it is predictable that each side will say the other is guilty of the greater crimes. Justifying the bad things Trump does by the bad those on the left do is illogical by my measure of logic.

What serious and well documented crimes were those.
