Do you know what the little squiggly thing is at the end of my sentence?

It's a question mark and denotes a QUESTION. (one that , of course, he didn't answer)

So it would seem. But on the bright side...apparently Shekels are the cure for homely misogynists there.

Use birth control is not obligatory...

...and when it fails, and it does, a woman is free to get an abortion.

If it's OK for women to kill their babies because they live in poverty, and supposedly society can't deal with all those babies, why wouldn't it be OK to sterilize women who live in poverty?

A lot of the same argument applies, doesn't it?

Abstinence is free. Meantime, if any of these women smoke, drink, gamble, obtain tattoos, eat fast food, or buy new clothes .. they can afford to pay for contraceptives.

    Try again :)

How much do cigarettes cost per year? Or alcohol? Or tattoos? Or fast food? Or hair styling? Or iphones?

When they're used (and used correctly), they're actually pretty effective.

So instead of prevention, just keep 'curing' (and what a cure it is .. )?

Do you regards adult as naughty children, unable to control themselves or behave responsibly?

You mean like smokers, drinkers, obese people, people who don't wear seatbelts?

Should those people be denied medical treatment?

No, he/she probably thinks (as I do), that a '22 year old who is not in a stable relationship' should probably not be doing that which risks a pregnancy. Obviously.

But we're not talking about that here, we're talking about women in poverty.

If you want to have a discussion about young women "who are not ready for a baby" we can have that discussion elsewhere.

The point was made that poverty causes women to choose abortions. A very very bad point, if those women are spending money on luxury goods like cigarettes, alcohol, tattoos, fast food, clothing, hair styling, smart phones, etc etc etc. Clearly, if they are spending money on such things, they are NOT poor - ergo, poverty is a flaming strawman.

Sure. But it's a completely bogus argument. See above.

I don't really care why they choose it. As long as they CAN choose it

Oh and responsibility and prevention are also flaming strawmen

No, it boils down to 'behave responsibly, so that you don't have to kill babies'. Any adult who thinks it's 'easier' to kill a baby than to simply say no to what boils down to a few minutes of physical sensation, is an unequivocally terrible human being - and deserves zero consideration.

Sure, sure. But not when any part of those (terrible) choices - or their consequences - impacts others.
