An apple feels no pain because it has no pain receptors A fetus feels no pain because it has no pain receptors until the end of the 2nd trimester. Furthermore all 2nd and 3rd trimesters are done under ANESTHESIA which automatically numbs the entire fetus so even if it could feel pain it is prevented from doing so. Those are FACTS that you can research for yourself but you won't because you don't want to disabuse your confirmation bias.
That's not true. The pain receptors exist long before that. What is questioned are whether the connections are there in the brain, and before that the nervous system, to be able to feel it. The fetus may be able to sense pain but it may be on the most basic level. It is questioned whether the fetus's brain has developed enough to interpret those pain signals as distressing and perceive pain. That's the argument, as best I understand it. Plus, even if the fetus reacts to pain, pro-choicers claim that is not evidence that it is in distress.
