One of the Trump "defense" memes is built along the lines of, "He may have done something he shouldn't have...he may even have done something illegal...but he did nothing that deserves impeachment."

    C'mon! Gimme a break!

Even if he just did the things he has admitted to doing (or done in public)...impeachment is warranted. In fact, in his calls for Russia and Ukraine to involve themselves in our elections, he is virtually demanding impeachment.

I suspect the people declaring his conduct to be "not impeachable" really mean "not worthy of removing him from office." Okay. If that is what they mean, that is what they should be saying...not "it is not impeachable."

The House can impeach him, and senators who think he is not guilty of doing what the obviously did (or who think those things to be minor when done by Trump) can vote to acquit him.

The House can impeach him for anything. Or even for nothing. Impeachment is literally nothing more than 'we found enough people who don't like you.'

    'peach away

So get to it. What’s the point of delaying any longer? Call your representative and get it done.

I do not rely on "partisan BS", Gary, which is why I have come to the conclusion that Trump's conduct is impeachable.

Get away from the partisanship...and you will come to that same conclusion. (Try imagining how you would be reacting right now if Hillary Clinton had been elected president and was doing the same thing Trump is doing.)

Bill Clinton had four years of a Republican special prosecutor investigating him so Republicans have no room to complain about Trump and the Democrats. On the other hand many in Congress, the Judicial and the Executive branch should be recalled or impeached because of performances of under achievement along with lengthy investigations into their financial activities.

Trump will be impeached shortly and they are simply feeding him more rope while dotting some T's. He probably wont be convicted of anything though and Republicans in congress will pay at the polls.

I tried imagining that and found we would never have heard of it.

I have watched everything the partisan Dems have thrown out regarding impeachment there is in short no there there. It is all little more than an extended complaint by the striped pants set that Trump doesn't value their opinions as much as they do. That may hurt their feelings but it is scarcely an impeachable offense.

Is dotting T’s significant in any way?

I would think if what he’s done warrants impeachment it should happen ASAP. Just my opinion. Otherwise it appears to be just a political move intended to influence elections to independents like me.

There are 31 House Democrats in districts Trump won in 2016, how do you think they're going to vote?

That's a classic fallacious strawman argument. Quit pretending that Trump is on the defensive and that those aforementioned memes are his argument.

I repeat: One of the Trump "defense" memes is built along the lines of, "He may have done something he shouldn't have...he may even have done something illegal...but he did nothing that deserves impeachment."

If you want to pretend I was saying that Trump is saying that...have a ball.

Oh, by the way: Trump IS on the defensive.

    It will happen ASAP, 557.

As soon as possible means as soon as it is possible.

It takes time to do these things...and the people moving the impeachment forward are doing it at a decent pace.

Democrats control the House and to steal a phrase, they can impeach a ham sandwich if they choose. They are playing election politics with this mess.

Nancy can't let it go to the Senate lest the Democrat front runner be torpedoed. So she can kill it in committee or she can enlist the 31 Democrats that are in districts that Trump won in 2016 to vote nay or present. That would mean 202 votes to impeach when they need 218. This would likely save most of those 31 seats Democrat and maintain their majority.

You are certainly entitled to that opinion. They do seem to be impeaching a "ham."

I personally think he is guilty of more serious offenses than either Nixon or Clinton.

My guess is that he WILL be impeached...but not convicted.

    Too bad that last part.

    Could be.

I think the House WILL impeach.

    We'll see.

Nah, I like the humor. Just wanted to make sure it wasn’t some new strategy the House was using to further muddy the waters. :)

It WILL turn out similarly. Facts will be gathered and displayed, guilt will be clear and the Justice Department along with Republicans in Congress will squash any action.
