I think I speak for most of us when I say I'm curious about what the Biden administration is going to do with possible refugees, now that Afghanistan is in shambles.

The progressives have already began clamoring for as many Afghan refugees as possible. NYT writer Michelle Goldberg says we should skip the usual vetting process for refugees. It's too much to ask, according to Goldberg, that refugees should be vetted to see if they're potential radicals or terrorists. Goldberg wrote in 2018 that we could 'replace Trump voters'. Perhaps this is how she envisions fulfilling that idea. Goldberg says the current 22,000 refugee quota is unacceptable, and the absolute minimum should be 180,000.

Maybe I'm just being extremely cynical, but one wonders whether the prospect of all these refugees wasn't a major consideration in the Biden Administration deciding to abandon Afghanistan.

So where will the refugees go? Two military bases on American soil have already been chosen to receive the refugees.

Fort McCoy in Wisconsin will house some of the Afghan refugees. The Department of Defense wants several thousand refugees brought in immediately -

Tens of thousands more refugees are to follow, with Fort Bliss in El Paso Texas being a possible second recipient. Refugee resettlement programs in Texas are calling for the refugees to be settled in Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Houston, cities already receiving large numbers of central American migrants this year. Texas will be a blue state in no time!

Lutheran Social Services of Washington D.C. is calling on Americans to donate money, as they've already began receiving refugees, and need to buy houses and cars for them.

The Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society has sent so many of its representives to Fort Lee, Virginia, that the military requested they stop. HIAS is anticipating 3500 refugees in Fort Lee Virginia, and they're standing by with cash, food, cars and more to shower the new Democrats with.

No mention yet of covid screenings, or whether the refugees will be vaccinated.

In addition, Jewish Social Services of Madison, WI is anticipating refugees. They say most of the refugees will go to Virginia and California, but they want some too.

Rabbi Sydney Mintz is working on a new bill in California to 'treat refugees with dignity' by mandating that the Golden State fund social workers for all refugees so that refugees are signed up for as many freebies as possible. He laments the fact that only 34% of the nation's refugees and asylum seekers end up in California, despite making progress in the total refugees received each year (+9000 yearly).

For the administration, more refugees are a gold mine, metaphorically speaking.
