After voting on 'Partial-Birth Abortion Ban' himself, Becerra claims there's no such law

The dispute arose from Becerra's claims during a virtual hearing.

He was asked about the gruesome procedure, which the law defines as "an abortion in which a physician deliberately and intentionally vaginally delivers a living, unborn child's body until either the entire baby's head is outside the body of the mother, or any part of the baby's trunk past the navel is outside the body of the mother and only the head remains inside the womb, for the purpose of performing an overt act (usually the puncturing of the back of the child's skull and removing the baby's brains) that the person knows will kill the partially delivered infant."

The Supreme Court upheld the law in Gonzales v. Carhart.

He was asked if he believes partial-birth abortion is illegal.

The fact check shows clearly that the HHS Secretary lied. There is ample evidence that there is a law on partial birth abortions and that he voted against that law as a member of Congress 18 years ago. The US Supreme Court upheld that law. The Secretary is the most pro abortion person in government.

When he was California AG he tried to coerce crisis pregnancy centers to advertise for abortion in their facilities.

Maybe instead of making up emotional non-medical terminology they should have used what the procedure is actually called. "Dilation and extraction" or D&X and "intact D&E"

Most infants aborted at this late stage are either unviable or severely deformed or disabled. Why the right wants more unwanted children in the world that they can neglect and call a drain on the systems they want to defund is beyond me?

Is cruelty the point or is that just an added perk?

The fact is that Becerra lied. He got caught in his lie before the congressional committee. As to cruelty, that would be making up a generic term to hide what it actually is and how it impacts the baby.

The OP is a perfect example of bad policy that is helping the GOP die in the very near future.

    Really?

    Based on what?

I bet that I could find (at least) 1 more "person in government" who is more "pro-abortion".

Your “source” quoted by you — I cannot verify as I do not read WND or anything with nut in the name (should give you a hint to it’s validity) — asked “He was asked if he believes partial-birth abortion is illegal.”

You cannot lie about a belief and on top of that they seem to have used made up terminology.

So no. He didn’t lie. But I am glad you brought this individual to my attention so I can support his role as a pro-choice cabinet official in Biden’s cabinet.

It’s a perfect example of confronting a liar and calling him out on it.
