And are the two exactly the same?? I would have to review the case you were talking about to make a determination because at the moment your "evidence" comes down to "someone somewhere did something which may or may not have worked with someone who may or may not have a condition that may or may not be similar to this case"

And it is not how often medical staff "get it wrong" but how often do they "get it right"

Now, if they have got it right that child has been in ICU since December 17 at a cost of between $5,000 - $10,000 per day. How much research to save many many more children would that have paid for?

It’s all opinion for the parents too but they don’t have the medical expertise and are understandably biased. The point here is that no one party can make a lone decision in these cases which is why they all presented their evidence and their opinions to a series of independent judges who have reached conclusions on the balance of all the information.

As I’ve said to Cerberus, the idea that parental decisions are unconditionally and can never be second guessed by anyone opens the door to abuse or well-meaning harm, suffering or even death. No right is without responsibilities and no right can be unconditional.

Did poor Alfie Evans get euthanized?

Alfie Evans was given 4 drugs just before he died, it has come out.

Alfie Evans died in Liverpool’s Alder Hey children’s hospital on Saturday morning at 2:30 AM. According to Italian newspaper La Nuova Bussola Quotidiana, a nurse entered the child’s cubicle after his father Tom had been called aside and gave him four drugs. A source close to the family told LifeSiteNews that these were injections that were administered to Alfie after Tom had been summoned for an unusual middle-of-the-night meeting with the hospital. The child died two hours later.

Hospital doctors had previously conveyed to the Evans’ family in a legal document how they intended to use a drug cocktail that included Midazolam and Fentanyl as part of Alfie’s “end of life care plan.”

Side effects of those drugs include respiratory depression.

When they took him off life support the first time (April 23) apparently he could still breathe. But four days later when they removed the ventilator again, for the final time, something had changed.

The hospital probably wanted to make sure it would be all over this time around, since the last time they pulled the plug Alfie's dad was able to resuscitate him and the child was able to breathe on his own.

I can see, Bowerbird, that you are not a supporter of life.

Not surprising considering some of your posts in the Abortion forum...

The simple fact is a lot of people in the UK wanted to see Alfie die, and probably don't mind if he was euthanized.

I have spent my entire working life trying to keep people alive - and because of that I do know there are some who are "called by god" and we cannot save them.

Euthanasia is illegal so Lifeshitenews is accusing the medical and nursing staff of committing an illegal act

That is definitely basis for litigation = including all who have repeated the defamation

They probably knew the drugs inducing respiratory depression would make it much less likely that he would recover this time, when taken off the assisted breathing machine.

What other explanation could there be? Look, they knew they were going to remove life support. The dad had already been called out of the room for a meeting where they informed him of it. So what other reason could there have been for those injections? Why continue any more medical treatment if they were imminently going to pull the plug?

How do you know they were not regular anti-epileptic medication?

Again be careful - if this does go to court they will look at EVERYONE who has spread this malicious rumour

Thank goodness, it looks like someone is doing some investigation:

    Coroner replies:
They're not doing an autopsy or toxicology report!

No need they would have all the CT scans PET scans MRI etc etc etc

What would cutting him up prove? His parents may have declined an autopsy
