Lets see. District gerry mandering. Vote suppression. Law suits challenging electoral results ( Gore actually won Florida ).

Those are just a few of the things that Repbs do. But they have been very effective.

Lame. You're not very good at the snappy come back. Democrats are the ones who have actually been caught cheating. And they've been losing for a long time because cheaters never win.

I don't begrudge him. I'm sure we'd all be a little pissed if we missed out on the Presidency by a few hundred votes. Would really stick in your mind for the rest of your life.

    What an opportunity missed.

They counted the votes four times. Bush won every time. Then the SCOTUS said enough was enough.

Like I said. This is what happens when one side ( the republicans ) cheat. They have used gerrymandering to awesome effect. Im not about the snappy come back. Im about telling it like it is. and the Republicans are simply cheaters. Plain and simple.

LOL, the complaint is that republicans are better at gerrymandering than democrats. So democrats are just not as bright?

Why? I'm sure the attack would have been attempted at least even with Gore in office.

Gerrymandering is not cheating; it's a 230 year old tactic - and both sides have engaged in it.

The point is: if you don't want to be gerrymandered, don't adopt views that so alienate the public that the politicians who are voted in overwhelmingly represent one party, and enable the gerrymandering you're now whining about.

For one, the official story is a scam/coverup so we have no idea what is true and what is fabrication.

What makes you so sure? Even if the official story is 100% true, it is well documented that they knew in advance it was coming and the Bush administration did nothing to thwart it or at the very least, prepare for it. So attempted? Perhaps (again IF the official story is 100% true), but far from a sure thing.

What "conspiracy nonsense"? Nothing I posted is "conspiracy nonsense". That the Bush administration knew it was coming is WELL DOCUMENTED. Even if you swallowed the 9/11 Commission Report, Chapter 8 is boldly titled "THE SYSTEM WAS BLINKING RED". What I don't "buy into" is government propaganda.

So, insanity aside, you figure Gore would have acted more effectively on the intelligence than Bush did?

It's not about Gore vs Bush, it's about the Gore administration vs the Bush administration. I'm not sure what "insanity" you're referring to but I don't believe 9/11 would have happened at all in a Gore administration. 9/11 was what the Bush administration wanted to happen (the "new Pearl Harbor"), that's quite obvious (see the PNAC document called "Rebuilding America's Defenses", authored by Bush cronies). And ridiculously convenient miracle of miracles, 3 targets were hit with insane precision (talk about insanity).

But let's just make believe for a minute that the whole official story is true, the likelihood of Gore ignoring all those warnings is nil. And the likelihood of scheduling/re-scheduling 12!!! war games exactly on the morning of 9/11, effectively and again, ridiculously, conveniently, miraculously rendering the air defenses impotent for the entire eastern corridor is also nil.

To believe the official 9/11 story, one has to believe in literally dozens of miraculous and very convenient coincidences that all occurred in one day, if you want to talk about insanity.

The coincidental timing of the exercises (12? I don't know about that number) and the actual hijackings could be seen as good or bad, since defenses were manned and armed above the usual, but then there was also some confusion (initially, at least) about whether the attacks were genuine.

    Source: http://www.historycommons.org/timel...ning_exercises&timeline=complete_911_timeline

Anyway, what makes you think Gore (or his administration, if you prefer) would have reacted differently? You allege a low ("nil") likelihood of Gore "ignoring all those warnings," but then we aren't exacly privy to the nature of the intelligence they had to go on, are we? No doubt there were always warnings of possible terrorist attacks, most of which never came to fruition. I'm thinking you don't know what you don't know here, and that you are relying on false and unsubstantiated claims from the conspiracy crowd.

    I. Although the 9/11 Commission mentioned only one military exercise – Vigilant Guardian – that was scheduled for 9/11, evidence shows that at least 12 exercises had been scheduled for that day:

    1. Vigilant Guardian: An annual NORAD exercise held traditionally in October, [8] often in conjunction with Global Guardian. [9] On 9/11, all levels of command at NORAD Headquarters, including NEADS, were participating in this command-post exercise (CPX), [10] “24/7”. [11]
    2. Global Guardian: A massive annual Command Post-Exercise (CPX) and Field Training Exercise (FTX), [12] which was sponsored jointly by the U.S. Strategic Command, US Space Command, and NORAD, and was linked to Vigilant Guardian and Amalgam Warrior. [13] Global Guardian is traditionally held in October or November each year. [14] According to a military newspaper dated March 23, 2001, [15] the over-arching Global Guardian exercise had indeed been originally scheduled for October, [16] but was subsequently moved to early September.
    3. Crown Vigilance was sponsored by Air Combat Command and was linked to Global Guardian. [17]
    4. Amalgam Warrior was also running – a large-scale live-fly exercise involving two or more NORAD regions, traditionally held twice a year in April and October. [18]
    5. Amalgam Virgo: NORAD officers told the 9/11 Commission Team 8: “On 9/11 there were two FDX exercises planned: Amalgam Virgo and Amalgam Warrior.[19]
    6. Northern Vigilance: A large annual real-world NORAD operation that on 9/11 diverted much of the US air defense fleet to Canada and Alaska to counteract a Russian drill. [20] This operation involved NORAD’s Cheyenne Mountain Operations Center (CMOC) in Colorado. [21]
    7. Apollo Guardian, linked to Global Guardian and run by the US Space Command, was also running on September 11, 2001. “Hijacks were included in these exercises to exercise transition in Rules of Engagement (ROE).” [22]
    8. W-105 at Otis Air Force Base: Six F-15’s from Otis (out of a contingent of 18 ) took off on a routine ocean training exercise at 9:00 AM, eight minutes after two “alert” F-15’s on the same runway were scrambled in response to the first WTC attack. The six training jets were recalled at 9:25 AM to be armed and to join the response. [23]
    9. Andrews Air Force Base (outside Washington, DC): There were only seven pilots available in the AAFB 121st Fighter Squadron on 9/11 because many had not returned from the large-scale training exercise “Red Flag” in Las Vegas. [24] Three F-16 fighter jets took off on a training exercise at 8:36 AM from Andrews AFB and did not return until 2:35 PM. Flight strips indicated that Andrews-based fighters were not scrambled in response to the hijackings until 11:12 AM. [25]
    10. New Jersey Air National Guard: When the World Trade Center was hit, two F-16 fighters from the 177th Fighter Wing based in Atlantic City were on a routine training mission eight minutes flying time away from New York, but the pilots were not informed of the hijackings until after the second Tower was hit at 9:03 AM. Two other fighters from this Wing were also on a routine training exercise. No jets took off from Atlantic City in response to the attacks until after the Pentagon was hit at approximately 9:37. [26]
    11. Washington DC Army Aviation Support Unit: Members of this Unit were attending annual weapons training, 90 minutes drive away. [27] The Unit’s mission was to maintain “a readiness posture in support of contingency plans,” to exercise “operational control” of the Washington area airspace, and to provide “aviation support for the White House, US government officials, Department of Defense, Department of the Army, and other government agencies,” [28] including the Pentagon.
    12. National Reconnaissance Office: NRO, a large intelligence agency of the Department of Defense, had planned a 9:32 AM simulation of a small plane crashing into one its own towers near Washington’s Dulles Airport. [29]

But even if it was half that, doesn't it send up a red flag for you?

Obviously I don't know for sure but certainly there is evidence that Bush administration wanted 9/11 to happen (again see the PNAC publication). There is no such evidence for Gore.

Who is the "conspiracy crowd"? I could say the same about you, you're relying on false and unsubstantiated claims from the Bush administration and their official conspiracy theory published as fact. We are only privy to what they tell us and it's filled with outright lies, distortions, obfuscations, half truths, contradictions and tons of covered up evidence ("classified" documents) under pretext of national security.

I think the fact that shortly after losing his bid for the presidency algore was arrested for beating up hookers in a cheap motel made us all breathe a sigh of relief.

    • Insulting or personally attacking other posters (Rule 2)
So many exercises! Hm. I wonder how many were taking place on September 10th, and on September 9th, and on the 8th, and so on? Perhaps these exercises are quite routine and taking place pretty much all the time at different locations. <Rule 2/3> Ever stop to consider that the trufers out there are the ones actually relying on false and unsubstantiated claims full of outright lies, distortions, obfuscations, half truths, contradictions and tons of covered up evidence?

Your insulting post has been reported so I'll skip the insulting portion(s). Try to post in an adult manner if you're capable, thanks.

No but keep on wondering and dreaming up silly **** if you believe it helps defend this heinous crime and the criminals. Military exercises, especially involving aircraft, are generally quite costly and planned well in advance. There is no precedent for 12 military exercises being scheduled/re-scheduled and taking place on the very morning of a terrorist attack of such magnitude or even less. That's a fact, not a conspiracy theory.

I don't know what a "trufer" is, there's no such word in any English language dictionary. So I take it you're describing yourself since it seems you're the one relying on all those. Or you really mean "truffles" but those are edible fungi so either English isn't your primary language or you're utterly confused. Enlighten me as to which.

A confusing "butterfly ballot" in Palm Beach county resulted in reform party candidate Buchanan getting a far higher number of votes in Palm Beach than any other Florida county, the difference exceeding Bush's victory margin.

Can you explain why it was that the pilots of those planes were in country and in training before Bush became the nominee? The whole plan was hatched while Clinton was pres. because everyone knows how weak a democratic president would respond. Like Jimmy Carter, Gore would have sent an angry letter of rebuke, and like Clinton, he would've sent Carter with a bag full of money.
