    Good for him, it is America. He has the right to go stand for the flag. Kid is a vet who served in Afghanistan. God bless him. If you pay 90 bucks for a music concert and the singer goes on a 30 minute rant about political nonsense will you pay 90 bucks the next time the said singer comes to town? IMO that's all this is about to me. Spinning it any other way is spinning it to far.

    The entire Pittsburgh Steelers team stayed in the locker room for national anthem except for Villanueva who served 3 tours in Afghanistan.

    How many who took a knee are veterans? Maybe they should enlist. Villanueva served 3 tours and won the Bronze Star. I certainly respect Villanueva much more than I do the kneelers...

    what ****ing job? what job? what job are we getting done?

    just tell me why the christ we're in afghanistan. why are we still in a pointless forever war that everyone knows by now is not going to end in victory for us, and probably won't end at all. it's a funnel that directs money into the pockets of defense contractors and weapons manufacturers, and that's it. it's the american version of the springfield tire fire. it's a death factory for the maintenance of empire.

    there is nothing glorious about it. nobody is proud of what's happening. the dead from this war will not be put in any place of honor. they will not be remembered for a noble sacrifice. if anyone actually cares about this meaningless conflict in 70 years they will regard the dead soldiers are poor bastards who got sucked into something they couldn't have possibly understood to be as dumb as it was.

    and because we live in a country where the only valuable thing is making sure everyone knows how badly you want to hump the flag, any pointless display of nationalism is rewarded with lavish praise. if i went outside and disemboweled myself and arranged my spilled-out intestines to spell "BRING ON IRAQ WAR 2" i know i would have a breitbart article memorializing my courageous sacrifice

    The courage that it took for this true NFL hero and former Army Ranger to stand for the National Anthem prior to Sunday's game was what a patriot looks like! He is not a robot supporting the words and actions of the President Trump, but a man standing for and with the colors for which he defended! He stood against his coach, his team mates, the organization, and the NFL on Sunday to stand for this country. Thank you for your service and thank you for your intestinal fortitude to do what is right!

    This young man stood tall, even against the wishes of his coach, because he stood for a country in which freedoms are not free. His service gave those who knelt this weekend the right to do so.
