If you stopped linking to it, they wouldn’t get the advertising revenue from the resulting clicks. Any actual science story will be available from much more reliable news sources.

I suggest you direct that suggestion to NASA - after all, NASA broadcasts the salient (I use the word loosely, but it is relevant?) facts (I use that word loosely as well), and all the junk press does is dumb it down for the reason I've already given. Oh and I read yesterday that we (UK) have our very own space agency now. Just like Topsy, the industry just keeps growing and growing.
