currently it's pretty much "what virus" down here in Oz, except for the huge fines if you leave your house for anything other than essential or exercise

I’m reading Malcolm Turnbull’s book and at the part where he talks about dealing with bullies.
Then what do I hear on telly?
Threats from China about the proposed investigation into the source of the pandemic!

    China threatens a lot.

I'm worried about snakes... have birds, attract mice, attract snakes. But if I did go the doomsday chook route I'd probably go for quails, neighbours are too close for noisy chooks.

    True about snakes and mice.
You don’t need to have a rooster which would wake everyone up, early.
Quail are cute little things but you need a lot of their eggs for a meal.

I don't think the kids will let me eat them... or their eggs, they'll probably become pets. We need a bit more suffering before that happens

YOU PEOPLES just don't get how Un-Free You are!

UN-FREE via Parliamentary government creating the oldest, most stoggy or bought member of this or that party as your Chief Executive.
Besides Trump, here is a short list of Presidents we could not have witnessed had
    :flagus: :salute: been Parliamentary
My Personal Fav, James K. Polk (hurrah) I do NOT forgive compromising 54'40" to 49'00"
Eisenhower. Franklin Roosevelt. Andrew Jackson. Thomas Jefferson.
    Woodrow Wilson. Bloody
(the red kind of "bloody") Abraham Lincoln. . . . .

UN-FREE because of the psychological effects of "given FREEDOM".

Your sort of freedom isn’t the sort we want. Our vote isn’t superseded by an Electoral Council.
States rights aren’t as big an issue here.

YOUR vote is a choice of two flavors that end up tasting like one.

    @Sallyally
    Tell Me That Ain't So!

    Australia
    2 or 3 Parties.
    One Agenda

    Just Like :flagus:
    RepubloCrats.
Inclusive of Clinton-s, Bush, Jr., Obama. Same, same. Globalism.
Sell out the "worker" and middle, middle class standards.

Thus Trump the "air, sweet smell" of FREEDOM
most similar to Reagan times when we the peoples
chose not to elect some Senator, or other member of
    Congress.

Aussies have their parties preaching they need other
nations to have a viable economy when
Australia has the resources to make it otherwise.

    True!?

Speak clearly into the microphone please.

I can’t understand why anyone would not use his vote. The only say you have in who governs you.

Our country is an island but our economy is not diverse enough to allow us to operate independently of the rest of the world.
We’ve never been isolationists.( not many of us anyway)

Then you would be shocked to find out how many Americans pee away their vote, they do not respect it very much, however while many fail to vote those of us who do have votes that have a higher weight when the votes are counted.

This has resulted in things I think are not so good, people who vote all of the time, such as I do, tend to control how the lives of everyone must live going forward, and way too many Americans spend more time complaining about government, but do nothing to change it by voting.

It’s very strange , I agree. One of my friends is always quoting the freedoms enjoyed in the US and having a vote is one of them.
Why not make your government accountable every four years?
And you could purge the comfortable long term Senators.

I think a lot of that is because too many Americans believe their vote doesn't matter, because they believe the system is rigged, a lie pushed out by both parties as they need to use it, and yes in some cases have been proven to be rigged, none the less not voting, is voting for no changes.

Many Americans need to tone down the bitching about government and go to the polls, it can make a mensurable difference in the way we will be governed by those we elect.

    BE Aware Aussies

    https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/ultra-rich-now-buying-pandemic-213003079.html
Now the super-rich are buying the ultimate insurance policy to make sure they will be able to travel to whatever virus-free, sunny bolt-hole they choose, if a second spike in Covid-19 infections triggers another global lockdown. The world’s wealthiest are snapping up multiple citizenships in countries around the world. . . ..

How cheap will Australia sell itself for whose benefit.
    Labor
    Conservative
    Liberals
    same. same. same.
    All Are the Same

    Australia for Australia

A few of them have already gone to NZ but Jacinda closed the door. Someone was buying up too much NZ land.

But, a party leadership decides your choices for Prime Minister
    Not YOU
the Political machine of each party.
    No primaries.
    No convention.
The Machine, bought for you by . . . .

And they must be a member of parliament.
No governors allowed. :( UnFree
    Thus Labor = Conservative, etc.
