The Aussie Summer Solstice has passed a few weeks ago
    yet
    https://news.yahoo.com/earth-reaches-perihelion-closer-sun-154427386.html
Earth reaches perihelion, closer to the sun
    than any other day

On January 2, 2021, Earth is closer to the sun in its elliptical orbit than on any other day of the year, marking an annual event known as perihelion.

    How's that for planning?
The warmest place in Earth's orbit so near the Summer Solstice.

For real; my husband and I just had a conversation about the perihelion about three hours ago.

In the Northern hemisphere; people assume it happens in the summer. I tell them, "Well, it does, as a matter of fact."

    ;)

It's ******** me a bit how people in Sydney are acting so hard done by. And I worry about how porous the border between NSW and the ACT is. The AFP is stopping people on the Federal Highway, but there's a zillion back roads that anyone with Google Maps can use to get past them.

    They’re a pack of whingers.
It’s a bit easier to manage the NSW border into Victoria, but I did hear of one bloke apprehended while swimming across the Murray near Albury.

Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat lock US President Donald Trump's accounts in wake of 'violent' protests in US Capitol
The social media giant deleted Mr Trump's video message repeating false claims that he won the election by a "landslide".

    about time!

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/australia-kill-pigeon-made-extraordinary-130742253.html

    Australia to kill pigeon
that made extraordinary journey from Oregon

A racing pigeon has survived an extraordinary 13,000-kilometer (8,000-mile) Pacific Ocean crossing from the United States to find a new home in Australia. Now authorities consider the bird a quarantine risk and plan to kill it.

If you had a poultry farm you would probably agree with them.
Have you not heard about the recent culling of flocks around the world due to a new bird flu outbreak?

I never think of Aussie lamb rib chops as having big, round, medallions of meat.

    Chops, NOT rack of lamb.

How is it in lamb ridden Australia
your Rib Chops are near the same price as mine,
    generously allowing $1 = $1

Did the Japanese acquire Australian lamb rib chops for less?

Lamb prices have been rising steadily for years. Our national flock is smaller- the millennial drought caused big reduction in flock number.

bushfires of 19-20 also affected sheep numbers.

    more consumption of chicken.

I prefer the flavour of a loin chop. Fat equals flavour.

The amount of barbequed lamb must have had a surge during the bushfires though...

The pigeon has been spared. It’s an Australian under a false flag!

Investigation concludes Joe the pigeon had a US leg band and won't be executed, says Australian Government
    • Federal authorities had said the bird posed a biosecurity risk and planned to kill it
    • But following the discovery the band was fake, authorities said other options, such as re-export, were being considered.

Grilled lamb chops. Is there anything more saliva stimulating?

    @scarlet witch

    NOT "Trimmed" here

Also they use to leave some
bone at the top, now gone in all.
I believe that piece of bone made
    a better chop.

BTW I believe most :flagus: hasn't
    been introduced to lamb.
For decades its' presence in supermarkets
has been small to none compared to the before time
    and always having
a selection of chops, shank, roasts, etc.
Currently in those vacuum packs that live
for months lamb is found today.
