The ole Confederacy sure gets a lot of attention.

Anything of the CSA is welcome on this thread.
    This thread was inspired by:

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/confederate-christmas-ornaments-smaller-statues-182350486.html
Confederate Christmas ornaments are smaller than statues
    – but they send the same racist message

    Christmas Tree ornaments under attack.
What racist message via X - Mas tree ornaments?

    Trailer

The whole movie with Russian subtitles :D

Shall we discuss the CSA and its' place in history?
Was "The War Between The States" necessary?

The southerners were not traitors and the South did not go to war to preserve slavery. Both claims are demonstrably false and easily refuted.

The southerners were traitors and the South went to war to preserve slavery. Anyone who claims otherwise is parroting revisionist history.

I did way back when it was on cable

    Is this copy different?

I disagree with the idea of the CSA subscribing to Hitlerism.
Too many influential Jews in the CSA. Judah Benjamin.
Fostering trade with the outside. Esp. the Caribbean where a Jewish trade network existed. Why :flagus: drinks coffee, not tea.
Ref.: Mark Twain, "Concerning the Jew" an essay or very small book

Likewise object to the idea of the Stars & Bars flag flown with Nazi flags.
There were free persons of color in the South. Some owned slaves.

    The video is just "fun".

    :peace:

psst - Did you @Phyxius watch it all the way through?

    Remember boys & girls
Soldiers involved in The War Between The States
were loyal to their State over any central government.

Army units were organized by State, not central government.

    I find reading difficult.
Always have. Rarely, have I enjoyed a book.
    Here is a rare exception
    https://www.amazon.com/Shaman-Cole-...1608496258&sprefix=shaman+noah,aps,208&sr=8-1
A historical fiction and in the later part, involving
    the War Between The States.
A few good pages discussing the causes.
Contrary to PC history it wasn't just about Black people.
It was also about the Rights of States per the 10th.

The South seceded to preserve slavery, and it was secession that led to war.

Was it treasonous to secede? After the Civil War, the Supreme Court (in Texas v White) that the U.S. is “an indestructible union” from which no state can secede. This implies secession is treasonous.

I have my copy. Do you?

It was not only about slavery.
Hint: Cotton was like oil in that day.

Do you prefer to say it was about the economic system in the South, one in which cotton (which was picked by slaves) was a big part?

They separated from the US to promote slavery. The explicitly said so. Please stop engaging in "alternative" history.

They said it was about slavery. Why is your explanation better than their own?

I have. I've cited more primary sources from the South from the time period than anyone else in this forum has. You don't want to play the "Study" game with me. It will consist of me continuously citing contemporary Confederate sources that disagree with you while you keep trying to cite books from the past few decades and ignoring actual primary sources at all costs.

I know. I've had this debate dozens of times around here. It always goes the same way.

As misspelled as it is misinformed. I'm sorry you think the US sucks that much, though.

The Confederacy waged war against the United States. As far as I am concerned, they were little different than the Germans or Japanese. Do you always cheer on anti-Anmerican forces? Do you support Nazi Germany and King George’s England with the same enthusiasm? Do you have Soviet flags hanging in your living room? Pictures of Osama bin Laden on the wall?

I support the "Bill of Rights"

The Confederacy and the Union waged war against each other. The Union won. The Confederacy is just as much American as any other state. Likely, their loyalty to the USA is higher on average than the northern states.

The Confederacy supported racial supremacy and race-based slavery over individual rights. And they said so. It is your word vs their own regarding their own motivations.

They explicitly split from the USA to preserve slavery. This is a historical fact.
