the HYPERLINK has the full story

    snip

The American Medical Association today said transgender people shouldn’t have to have surgery to change their birth certificate.

Interesting, this is the "governing" body of medicine and they are pushing forth the message that biology doesn't matter.

I'm not sure why there is a sudden push to stop viewing a mental disorder for what it is and trying to normalize it.

Will we no longer see the sex/gender of a child registered on the birth cert?

will driver's licenses and official id's be changed and have sex/gender removed from them?

Why is this any kind of problem for anyone, anywhere?

I'm guessing I may regret asking

LOL Are you kidding? Why should we drop hundreds of years of scientific fact for someone's feelings? Can you explain that nonsense?

What are you expressing besides "feelings"?

And how does this affect you in the slightest way?...science is an evolving process. Besides basic chemistry and physics, if accepted science is 100 years old...it should be ripe for scrutiny. Ala' flat Earth

If the recent case of Australia's major geophysical union voting down the global warming claim of its board is any example most of these associations make such statements through small politically appointed boards of 5-10 members and are never put to the vote of the full body.

Hopefully such a statement will spur the kind of rebellion in the AMA we have seen against other such boards that have gotten way too political.

What does this ave to do with science. This is an anti-scientific statement by a scientific body.

Yes, because some laws are based on the sex of the individual. I know youre supposed to believe that everything is equal for an individual regardless of their gender, but reality is completely different, than what you believe is supposed to be.

Artificially creating a 3rd gender to make 1% of the population feel better about having a mental disorder, actually hurts the 99% percent of the population.

What about all the women who have to deal with a hairy dude, in a skirt, using the ladies room? Who cares about their feelings, certainly not left handed communist morons, who think society should bend for "wants" of a nutter.

I can think of one thing genitalia is good for and it's not as an identification tag.

Why dont you call your congress person and demand that you be allowed to give birth to a baby?

Everyone knows the only thing preventing you from getting pregnant is the Law, and the opinion of the AMA.

Too bad because gender specific laws cannot be enforced without specific genders.
Can you imagine someone being allowed to shower with the ladies because he feels like he is a woman?

    Liberalism is insanity.

Here's a question, how are we supposed to accept anybody for who they are when they can't even do it themselves? They keep redefining gender and their own identity. If you have an operation and change your gender that's fine but how can anybody ask or expect everyone else to be tolerant when that person can't even accepting their current gender?

You cant restructure American society for 1% of people, without affecting the other 99%

I can't wait to see the first lawsuit against Miss America or Miss Universe because the name is offensive

How about the first dept store to be sued for having a "Men's" dept?

What purpose does one's listed sex on a BC or a DL serve?

It appears people obsessed with sexual identity and orientation may have a mental disease and need reorientation.

So your entire concern about what is listed on a BC and DL is what bathroom one must use? Are those to be presented before entering said bathroom?

No. I'm taking birth control pills in case my penis turns into a vagina.

A lot of people in this thread are confusing gender with sex. People cannot change their sex. If a driver's license only has the options F or M, I can understand why people would match it with their gender and not their sex.

Your birth certificate and your drivers license, are not for your benefit. They are for the states benefit.

My ability to drive a car is not dependent on my drivers license.

That's a nice ideal but it's not practical given budget constraints and private stalls still don't solve the problem of invasive peeping entirely.

the words are interchangeable. It wasn't until the LGBQRSTUVWXYZ groups got involved and started to play word games

    Yeah. Great. Whatever.
You are talking about an ideal that does nothing to address people that "feel" they are entitled to live the life of the opposite gender because that's how they see it.

I feel they should at the very least have a couple private stalls for people that don't fit the norm in either category or just don't like communal showers... that solves the issue pretty easily

unless you have surgery, your still the sex you were born with (unless your were born with both), so you have to take a shower with others of the same gender... or a separate stall
