Amazon Prime is taking over Amazon's website. I don't have Amazon Prime so I can't order the items that say "prime." These items are usually both better and cheaper than their surrounding products. I was shopping for jeans and I couldn't find an affordable NOT-prime pair. I had a budget. So I went to Walmart's website and ordered pants from there. They haven't yet learned that they can make customers pay a subscription and then make all their stuff "prime" so you have to have a subscription to buy it. (I hope they don't learn that lesson any time soon.)
I use Amazon enough that the discount on delivery makes it a no brainer. Also I get the free online TV channel. If I buy 12 items a year, it pays for itself.
I was not aware that only prime members can order prime labeled items. I thought they could order them but just didn't get the free 2 day shipping.
The main feature of Amazon Prime is its original video contents. You're mistaken about Amazon Prime. Prime customers can get prime items delivered in one or two days for free and other customers can also purchase them with shipping fees, too. Prime items are also stored in Amazon's own warehouses and directly sold and shipped by Amazon. Non-Prime items are sold by other sellers and some of them are located in China.
True Although there are a very few items at special pricing that are available only for prime members
Talk economics and Amazon? Two aspects spring to mind. First, tax dodging. Second, given the application of economic psychology to inflate individual consumption, the attack on economic rationality.
Ahh yes, drunk shopping, Amazon will take full advantage of the unaware buyer. Amazon is a big convenience for us that live in the middle of nowhere with limited retail choices. But i have been disappointed in the quality, even with common name brand items. Wrangler jeans is my latest example, they were incorrectly labeled as to size.
