The pledge is idolatry and anti-Christian. Worshipers of the state use it to put government above God, and their dupes follow. It's understandable that racists, being the solid collectivists that they are (despite the false and hypocritical veneer of individualism they sometimes display) would be so defensive of their oaths and hymns to the state.

Here's what it really means to be an American -

So- I assume that you are religious, and therefore righteous in those insults. Religion of gods is a left over from primitive times- that is, as it always has been, a plague on mankind. There is indeed a higher power, but it's not one that favors us over anything else, that you can ask favors of, that will save you from anything. The higer power does make the rules of life; it is up to us to live by them and build a better world by our choices. Some refer to it as Mother Nature.

Long before man came along, the world was full of thriving species, that despite not having churches, police, lawyers, shrinks and politicians- worked wonderfully. Then we cane along- the only species that was ever likely to become the cause of it's own extinction.

The pledge is the same as a promise to be there for your family, to protect your home, your neighbors, your homeland. If you don't think those things are worthwhile, then take a knee, lift a finger or whatever you do to protest the the world isn't making you happy yet, and remind people that they are here to do that.

Does NOT mean you can blame your feelngs on someone else and demand they make you happy.
Does NOT mean you are entitled to a living.
Does NOT mean that you are entitled to the property or wealth of other people, just because they made it and you didn't.

And it does mean that others are free to watch you do it and see you as just that....
And dismiss your opinions like a passing fart in the wind.

Serving in an immoral war is dubious as evidence of patriotism.

 

The homestead act required a substantial amount of investment and labor be invested- it wasn't free, And, it served the needs of the nation when land was idle. That time is passed, unless you go somewhere like back-country Alaska, Be my guest.

Earning respect does not mean earning YOUR respect. If you can't see what's been done by the person- you have a vision problem. YOUR problem.

Nobody who has wealth hasn't made the money without leveraging people? Think again. you feel sorry for those who won't produce. But the laws of the land impose great regulation on employers to provide a multitude of conditions beneficial to employees- but require nothing from employees. If you don't want a job at the price you agree to- don't take itl If nobody will pay you what you think you are worth, go into business for yourself and get a real education. IF you think you understand the other side and that they are making all the money while you do the work.... Please, by all means hock whatever you own and open your own business as soon as possible.

Anyone who does not realize that wealth is produced through the leverage of other people labor is ignorant beyond redemption. I don't feel sorry for people who don't produce. I feel sorry sorry for the 16 million Americans who have mental and physical disabilities. I feel sorry for the addition 15 million Americans who have IQs above mentally handicapped levels but below fully functioning adults.

I've worked for 32 years straight now - never taken a dime of assistance or public funds - but I KNOW that my income has been augmented in direct and indirect fashion by government spending. And I KNOW that that which I produced started as raw materials that were dug out by others, shipped by others and fashioned by the labor of others. THAT is reality.
